He was very good today and his one line breaks produced a try by Lleyds,

I would say he will by Monday be back in the Springbok squad - now who will be goners - Steyn most likely or Jantjies not impossible. Lets hope Erasmus - normally a logical and very good selector - does the right thing in the case of Willemse!!!!!

It sounds like he found a level he is more comfortable with. Test rugby is certainly not Currie Cup rugby. Not by a long shot.

But Province lost to the Cheetahs.....if he can't produce a result against these lowly opponents, I doubt Eraser will bother.

No I didn't.....I was watching Poms/Ireland and Scotland/France while you were gathering proof Willemse is going to the WC....something which will be settled one way or the other on Monday. Pretty damn stupid, but hey, what's new?

Not damn stupid - I am worried about having a dud like Steyn in the squad  and a potential problem in the back-up flyhalf position.  That was why I wanted to see how Willemse was do ing and he did very well.

As you stated we will see on Monday what the squad will look like.

There will be players that may be weaker than others in the squad - but inevitable the best performers are all in the group already.  So no repeat of the 2015 squad selection debacle in evidence.

Ceradunce is indeed an Idiot.

Let me explain something to you.  I never pissed on any coach  I just look a what they have achieved and consider them based on the performance of the teams they coached,

In looking at that I look also at team selection.  Meyer in fact selected players on the basis of reputation and he said so himself.  It would have helped of Meyer look at performance in selecting  the 2015 WC squad,  He picked players without any game time for up to 18 months before the WC and for the rest picked at least 8 unplayable players,    The result was that at least 8 of the 31 squad members were unplayable in matches,

If Meyer had a game plan it must have been  SARU secret - it was  a total mess anyway and there was nothing bar repetitive BS in evidence, In essence  it resulted in a poor performance record - especially in his last year as SA coach,

In the case of Erasmus he engendered a new team spirit in the team and helped the players in building up a new team spirit.   In essence he inherited a total mess from Meyer and Coetzee and had to rebuild the team.  He also had to look at franchise players who may become susses ful so he selected experimental teams for less-important tests in 2018.

In looking at selections Erasmus's norm  always was performance,   Even then there are a few players where I differ from him, but realize that in the main he would select genuine performers and not reputation duds

Please not another doping! But it isn't Willemse, it's Muck. Ou Tokkie you are doping if you think Jantjies' place in the Bok squad is at risk. This must be the stupidest call in a list of very stupid calls you have made over the years. Dumb Muck.

The player whose position is at risk is Steyn and I said it clearly,  He was never satisfactory when he came from the bench in the tests this year and should not be in the squad.   I do not think he will be of any value in the WC anyway and Erasmus will make a huge mistake selecting him,

Knowing his methodology in teams election  Erasmus would have called Willemse up to the squad already - but he wanted to see him get some game time.   Unlike Meyer he would not select a  player who has not played any games for up to 18 months and then sits with passengers at the WC who were basically unplayable.

So Willemse played from the bench first and then yesterday played the full match at flyhalf and did very well.   That indicates that Erasmus will likely consider him as a back-up flyhalf - since Jantjies under pressure is not a nice sight to see,   H e may  pick Jantjies as well anyway,

In the case of Steyn  - what is he?    His Club has virtually never used him as center or flyhalf the past year and when used as center from the bench  by Erasmus he was poor.   His Club used him at full back when he did play - but his pace is too slow for that position.

Willemse is a much better proposition all round and  that is why I think he would be in the squad and Steyn out,

That would leave Erasmus with one other problem.   He could pick either Kwagga or Elstadt as a loosie - meaning that one of them may be out.  My guess is that Kwagga will be out of contention.  However, Meyer may decide to retain both and that could place Mostert's position in jeopardy,

Mike I hope Willemse goes he is a talent.

We so need X factor players. Bit concerned how quiet Le R oux has been also.

Steyn never really put his hand up. Frankly I still don't know how good he is but fear he does lack pace.

We will see what happens tomorrow. Can't see Rassie making many errors. No one will agree with every selection but there should be few quibbles

Rassie has players who can play lock if you include Steph.

5 players for two positions.

Rassie has 5 players to cover three loose forward positions.

Interesting call. Kwagga has not proved effective against better sides thus far.

Anyhow one can pick holes in things depending on the tack you take.

There are a few debatable decisions but not too many.

Here is aa case where the Idiot Speakers are running riot again about what is down to an opinion about selections are concerned.    The players they want to sack from the squad is so ridiculous and so based on distortions and misrepresentation as to what actually happened in games that one would not even bother to comment on.

At least I gave logical reasons for why I think Willemse should be in the squad and based my opinion on what actually happened in the game - the Idiot Speakers base theirs on prejudice.  But hey - they are loud about a match they have not even seen.   However, that is normal with them even though what they want to see an not to see in matches is even more ridiculous,

I also gave a view shared by many rugby lovers that Mostert is not physical enough o be useful as a Tight 5 player.   I mentioned the line-outs in the last two tests - the one against the AF;s was particularly poor and in the Argentinian  test he was not used at all in line-outs,   I think he ill not play in major tests as a result.

It is weird  how Mozart re-opens threads that indicates his real rugby illiteracy and performance evaluation fraud totally.  LMAO

I based my evaluation on his entire body of work to date. His contributions for the Boks haven't been very good. That's not an opinion, not an alternative interpretation, but a tangible reality. A fact. He has not bettered the production of Frans, and we can safely assume Rassie feels the same way. Once again, your hero spits in your face!

But you told us Mostert wasn't going to be selected....along with Frans, Jantjies and Louw. Now suddenly a new prediction, Mostert isn't going to play in big games. You told us Willemse was going to be selected....now he should have been selected. Face it, you and your hero Eraser are on a totally different pages. With respect to players and with respect to tactics. You want attacking ball in hand rugby....Eraser wants to play a traditional defend and counter attack Bok game. Truthfully, believing what you do laughable as it is, you should be Eraser's biggest critic.
