Matt Toomua will play inside centre and Peter Betham will debut on the wing for the Wallabies in the third Bledisloe Cup test against New Zealand on Saturday.

Wallabies coach Ewen McKenzie named his team for the Dunedin clash today, promoting Toomua from the bench to fill the role left vacant by injury to his Brumbies teammate Christian Lealiifano.

Toomua started at five eighth in the first two Bledisloe Test defeats at the start of the Rugby Championship but will line up outside Quade Cooper, who has reclaimed that role since.

NSW Waratahs flyer Betham, who was struggling just to earn a Super Rugby contract 12 months ago, will play his first Test following the unavailability of eight other specialist wingers.

NSW skipper Dave Dennis pipped fellow loose forward Liam Gill for the final forwards spot on the bench, while utility back and kicking ace Mike Harris has earned a recall to the bench.

Wallabies: Israel Folau, Adam Ashley-Cooper, Tevita Kuridrani, Matt Toomua, Peter Betham, Quade Cooper, Will Genia, Ben McCalman, Michael Hooper, Ben Mowen, James Horwill (captain), Rob Simmons, Ben Alexander, Stephen Moore, James Slipper. Reserves: Saia Fainga’a, Benn Robinson, Sekope Kepu, Sitaleki Timani, Dave Dennis, Nic White, Mike Harris, Bernard Foley.

Some changes in the Wobblies line up forced by injuries. Oz seems to be perpetually dealing with injuries.
Hope this game is a shoot out! IMO Oz has to make it so as they don't have enough strength  in the forwards. Look for Cooper to finally have a good game against the All Blacks (I hope I am wrong).

Yep long season - starting to take its toll and definitely depth is lacking....

I too think QC will finally come of age and HOPEFULLY fires.... hes certainly due to against the nasty unhospitable kiwi crowd/s - a sad indictment really....

Ben McCalman  looked really good v boks - go as far to say best ive ever seen him play - so hoping he can bring his A game too...

Not super confident about the chances of upset..... but as we all know kiwis are always one game closer to their next loss..................

Don't think it's gunna do QC' s confidence much good getting smashed by the ABs.

Lets hope it's not a complete embarrassment for the hapless Aussies .

Not having a very good week the Aussies after getting thrashed in the cricket today and another arse kicking coming up on on the weekend courteous of the ABs...at least they've still got their bony arse netball team to give them the winning edge...

Redsman: I Like the level of pessimism in that statement "kiwis are always one game closer to their next loss", lol That level of pessimism is hard to match.
Are there any trophies for that category?
