How competitive will we be if 11 and a half are people of colour. Is that what a best picked test day squad will look like?

One blogger on Supersport said:

Much as I would love for Rassie to be successful I just dont see it happening. The margins in professional sport are incredibly small and ANY handicap will be the difference between winning and losing. I have no problem with empowering people, providing opportunities, mentorship etc, but at the elite levels the ONLY criteria for selection should be excellence.

But the reality is racial quota's in ANY kind of competitive endeavour is RACIST and will not be successful and should NOT be countenanced. With everything else happening like the Marxist expropriation of all land without compensation South Africa is already accelerating down that slippery slope, so to expect a rugby team to somehow be immune to the cANCer killing the country is just delusional.

ANOTHER SAID:

The Boks are the only team in the world that must reflect population demographics rather than player resources and social demographics. This is racist and does not support equal opportunities for players.
The Sharks should be predominantly black as Kwazulu Natal is. However the Zulu population by and large doesnt take to rugby. Fair enough so why transformation targets at test level? Bloody lunacy.

Rassie thinks it can be done. maybe but its racist to pick on skin colour. Very few genuine rugby lovers want a team picked on skin colour. the majority want a merit selected side. The bigots at the anc of course are completely racist.

EX SUPERSPORT:

Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus is confident he will be able to hit the transformation targets set by his bosses by the time the Rugby World Cup comes along.

Erasmus was appointed last week on a six-year contract, but will need to try and achieve SA Rugby’s targets of a 50% representative basis for players of colour by the Rugby World Cup.

Yet, Erasmus doesn’t seem phased by the challenge and believes he knows the landscape he is working in, the fights that have been fought over the issue and will be able to achieve where so many of his predecessors have failed.

“When you get into the SA Rugby set-up we have a very unique system in terms of 14 unions, our council. It is a different setup to Wales, Scotland. Anybody from the outside it takes you three four months to get used to that, “he explained.

“I think the benefit for me to have been part of the system since 1994, when the game went professional, I understand transformation, I understand the battles that have been fought and the targets. I signed my contract according to that.(THE CHALICE IS MORE POISONED THAN EVER!)

“It is not something I come in and say this is how it works. I am up for that, I will look to see how far we can hit those targets.”

Erasmus added that he believes South Africa have the players, the skills and the game plan to be able to be a real threat in the 2019 Rugby World Cup and all the country needs now is a little bit of hope.

“I don’t think we should say we are struggling and we don’t have the players. I don’t think we must say we don’t have enough time. I think we need to use these talents to our disposal with an aligned Mindset with the provinces, and hands-on coaching with the players.

“And we need to beat a big team like England in a series again, and then people will get hope again. We will go up in the world rankings and players won’t head overseas. At the end of the day everyone knows that it may be a six year contract but everyone knows if you don’t win it won’t be six years, you will be out. Results are what matters.”

Erasmus has determined short and long term goals for the side under his tutelage, and believes the franchises will play a massive part in making the Boks a real threat in 2019.

“We’ve shared a lot with the franchises and we’ve bounced a lot of stuff off them. Because we are getting so much access currently on the field it seems those camps are almost the icing on the cake because it won’t be that we will see them for the first time at the camps. We are seeing those things currently.

“There will be camps but it will be more that we see them and align them. We get the teams in their bye weeks. Probably somewhere in May, after we’ve chatted to the provinces we will have a camp.

“I think we are in with a big chance, because I’ve been overseas and I’ve seen how good our players are. I just say we need to align quickly and use the IP well and we will be in with a big chance.”

He outlined his goals, both short and long term.

“Short term goals, we are playing Wales and England. Let’s get past that hurdle and get the morale up and get a winning feeling again and get some positiveness around the Springbok team. That will be short term goal.

Long term is to be consistently ranked in the top two in the world and to be No 1 as long as we can,” he added.

Erasmus’s first match in charge will be the one-off test in Washington against Wales

This quota thing has many knock on effects. Because our African contingent is best suited to wing and front row positions, we are likely to see those positions teserved for them. And it filters down to Super Rugby.....3 of the 4 wings in the Lions/Bulls game were Africans. I think we could be a top 5 team with a 50% quota. At the moment there simply isn't the talent to be a top 2 team with this constraint. But if there is no concerted resistance to the concept, it will prevail.

IF BLACKS TOOK UP THE GAME IN BIG NUMBER OVER TIME IT COULD HAPPEN ALTHOUGH I THINK THE AFRIKANERS MAKE THE BEST FORWARDS IN WORLD RUGBY AND PRODUCE SOME EXCELLENT BACKS AS WELL. AFRIKANERS DOMI NATED WORLD RUGBY UP TO ISOLATION WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM THE ENGLISH

Heck this is ridiculous...the sting is compromise...when you compromise with policy that's downright unjust , unfair and evil you become a part of it and lose your integrity. Some people make light of it because they have weak consciences, mostly others accept it because they have no backbone and some are too thick to understand it.

A black man who is talented in rugby does not want to replace a white player who is clearly more talented...ask any sportsman...he knows where he stands...it is completely different the other way round.

Quite honestly I am certain it will not work simply because it's wrong and my loyalty to this country has deteriorated over the past few years so badly that I'm ashamed to be called South African and that's simply because I don't want to identified with all this crap...I'm sure there are here that feel the same way.

I'm afraid I have no respect for Rassie, his bosses, our government leaders and some business leaders...I had faith once in SA but now it's fastly approaching zero.

We will never be a great rugby playing nation again if we allows this to continue and I'm absolutely damn sure we won't be a contender for even 4th place let alone 2...one thing you can be very sure of, we will NEVER surpass NZ.

We will only surpass nz if blacks can cut it. However, I am with you Sebolobsky. Merit selections must be fought for but we are in the vast minority n the country and how many blacks will support merit selections? They don't want merit selections in the work place so why would they want it on the sports field - wi th some honourable exceptions of course.

Well I guess South Africa is reeping what it sows.

Very few agree that quota's are the way to go - However, the whites are still being given a better opportunity now than what the non whites were given pre-isolation.

There were not many whites complaining back then - So it isn't realistic to expect the non whites to have any empathy for the white community in South Africa now.

South Africa was disappearing up its own backside back then and nothing has changed now.

You can guarantee one thing - South Africa in a political sense will always screw up and will always step in the pile of shit.

I for one do not agree with quota's - But I most certainly do not have any sympathy for South African Whites.

I guess it is that old life lesson again - What goes around comes around.

We all know South Africa is heading down the road of complete disaster - But they have been for the last 100 years - Nothing New is it really.

We didn't hear you guys complaining at all when the Whites were running the country - So why should we understand your complaints now.

FW de Klerk and Nelson Mandela gave South Africa a new starting blueprint for South Africa involving a new social conscience and Human Empathy but that was shit on very quickly.

South Africa has and has always been the orchestrator  of its own bullshit.

Have you noticed that the white man doesn't have any desire to partake in the black mans events ... and yet for some reason the black man always insists on gatecrashing our gatherings. They force their way in everywhere ... using the race card as far as they go ... unwanted ... uninvited ... and spoil it for all ... and as soon as they gain access, the white man leaves to try again elsewhere.

For example ... there isn't a single English radio station within our borders that I can tune into that has not been hi-jacked by the black man. They can hardly speak our language and yet they insist on broadcasting their ignorance on air. I have heard a minister of the current government pronounce the word "determine" ... as "detta mine". Took me awhile to figure out what this fool was saying.

I don't think we actually care whether you feel sorry for us or not, R&D. We don't want or need your sympathy. I can't remember ever asking for it.

The fact remains that back in the day we were economically sound ... with a currency that matched the US dollar and competed well with the British pound. On the sports front (rugby in particular) we beat the best in the world on a regular basis ... when were allowed to play against them ... in fact the All Blacks were our bitches ... that is until the black man took over. The state of our rugby is easily explained. It has black fingerprints all over it.

If the black man actually improved our country then we wouldn't have cause for complaint but as is usually the case whatever he touches turns to shit. See the difference?

I know of a man who has around 100 Gemsbok on his plot of land, and on many occasions I'll find his buck running around in the streets of our neighborhood. Why you ask ... well ... during the night, while he's asleep, the black man comes along and cuts his 8ft fence down and rolls it up for an easy pay day at the local scrap yard. They even steal manhole covers ... so much so that one has to negotiate the streets carefully and warn your kids to watch out as the ride around on their bicycles.

So ... before you lecture us, R&B ... I would suggest that you pull your head your arse first ... cause that way you may see a little clearer.

The answer is simple: as it was done in the past, quotas will not be applied. As they used to.

SA has a long marxist history. Not only indigenous people in SA were not compensated for the theft, but they are forced to buy it back.

In terms of justice, thieves not only return stolen goods to the robbed but it comes with compensation.

Last weeks were very instructive, and it can be stated that compensation certainly does not include water technology.

That is the opposite. All positions but few in the back are reserved to white people in SA.

SA rugby operates in mirror to NZ rugby, with SA non white players having to fill in for PI players as SA white players are unable to achieve that part.

As things go, the NH offers a benchmark from a much smaller starting population pool.

The NH has trained non white players in many positions, first row, second row, third row. Looking at SA franchise rugby, the gap between NH and SA is oceanwide. It is not level related as SA teams are pretty bad yet they feature no non white players in many positions.

Of course quotas are okay, they are a solution deviced to cover the situation of rugby in SA.

There is no payback, the opposite, a way to keep pleasing the white minority as the expense of the non white majority.

The situation is dire in SA rugby.

IF BLACKS TOOK UP THE GAME IN BIG NUMBER OVER TIME IT COULD HAPPEN

Unsubstantiated.

SA is the place with the largest non white population plays rugby in the world.

Yet it is the place that yields the least non white players comparatively.

Watching Italy games, it appears that even Italy managed to get a non white player to play in their squad while no SA non white players would have the level for that.

There must be like one thousand non white people playing rugby in Italy and they managed to train a better player than SA managed to out of ten thousands people praticising.

And that is Italy, the piss poor rugby nation. Still, out of few, they still managed to achieve what SA can not do.

Once, NH plays as a benchmark, and the conclusion does not favour SA. Better to open up the eyes and stop the delusion.

"I for one do not agree with quota's - But I most certainly do not have any sympathy for South African Whites."

No black child is denied entry to any school, club or team due to the color of his skin. Black children have exactly the same, and in many cases better opportunities than their white, coloured or indian counterparts.

When an average black household has 5 children but can afford 2 then how the fuck do they think they'll climb our of poverty? It wont happen. They keep multiplying and we keep taking the blame for their poverty. Instead of a a small family that can live comfortably they prefer a massive family with everyone living under the bread line. This is the way up and down the entire fking continent.

You don't need a university or even school education to understand what size family you can sustain. 5 kids = no rugby boots for anyone. 2 kids = rugby boots. Clearly genius level planning is required to udnerstand this.

I grew up after apartheid and received no land, no large sum of money, no government benefit and was not allowed to apply for any job in the police, military or anywhere else in the public sector when i finished school. I did apply at SAA to be a pilot and made it all the way to the last interview. After which i was told in not so many words that had i been black i would have gotten the job as i'd done better than all the other candidates at both the interviews and assessments. The bastard who told me this was a black woman and she grinned from ear to ear as she said it. Just the traveling costs to the interviews was two months worth of salary for me back then...which i paid myself.

I can go on. Even today, i'm still feeling the effects of it since my business constantly has to compete with BEE candidates. My competitors are constantly winning contracts from me even though they are understaffed, under skilled, overpriced and cant possibly deliver what they promise. It always feels good when the clients comes begging me to clean up after the BEE candidate inevitably fks up and costs them money. I double my price out of principle. And i grin from ear to ear.

But we accept this. We accept that generations before ours received benefit from apartheid and we will be discriminated against on that basis for ever.

BLACK PEOPLE ON THE WHOLE PREFER SOCCER. And there are ample soccer clubs and teams up and down the country filled with black kids playing the game weekly. If blacks in general had the same enthusiasm for rugby...which costs no more than soccer to play considering all you need is a ball, then we'd see just as many rugby clubs frequented by blacks.

There are two reasons they don't care for rugby much. 1) They are too small for the game. The average black male in SA is 168cm's tall. That's tiny, even by scrumhalf standards. 2) Historically black people around the planet have gravitated towards soccer.

But twats like you will have everyone believe that its because somehow whites are still conspiring against blacks so as to ensure they don't play rugby. And then try to justify the exclusion of white players who were born as recently as 18 years ago, on the basis of their skin color.

Pretty sweeping statement there huh?

So you have no sympathy for white people who are too young to have had anything to do with apartheid nor received any benefit from it? You are happy for discrimination based on race to occur?

Clearly a very well thought out statement.

What you and all the other kcufwits need to ask yourselves is why the onus of proof is completely missing from these blatantly racist procedures. IE Our constitution limits discrimination by using the word "Fair"...IE Discrimination is not allowed unless it's "Fair".

So without ever having to prove that the discrimination is fair, you can exclude a white person from a team when he might come from an extremely poor background while giving the black person preference when he may have been to a private school and never suffered a day in his life.

How can you prove anything is fair without treating matters on a case by case basis? You can't. But that's fine, and you support it.

I have a very short reply for you.

TLDR: GO AND FK YOURSELF!

You can also GFY since you only ever come here to comment on race related bullshyte and never have an ounce of anything even remotely interesting to add from a rugby perspective.

Always some psuedo-intellectual BS which you think is clever but amounts only to garbled shyte speak.

The only "unsubstantiated" thing here is your right to breathe motherfuccer.

I'm so tired of this ridiculous government who creates on going problems between people of different races. We are now in 2018, 24 years after 1994 and these liars, deceivers of the brainless and ra cists (in the true sense of the word) after still spouting their crap about...the "disadvantaged".

In SA if you go into any government dept you don't see a single white head...go into any supermarket chain store...not a single white or Indian cashier.

They are the ones that stir and make every one conscious of the colour of our skins...they don't allow us to become colour-blind...how can we if we are constantly reminded of it in everything we see and experience. Disgusting hypocrites.

No problem is created. Obviously, problems were not solved and people in SA have no will but to deny them.

It is indeed 25 years and in the meantime, SA has trained no decent non white rugby players.

Even Italy has managed the trick. Italy.

BLACK PEOPLE ON THE WHOLE PREFER SOCCER.

That is self indiction.

SA went for rugby because football is highly competitive and SA could have not competed.

Now football in SA is nothing as it is in Europe. Football is big in Europe, big money, passion, fame, it does not compare.

And yet, despite the context, despite non white people prefering football, despite a much smaller pool, there are a few decent non white rugby players in the NH.

If non white people prefer football, it plays against SA again because football is huge in Europe, it dwarves rugby. In spite of this huge magnet, there are a few.

None in SA.
