“If you ask me as a businessman, the business side of it is not working,”

Rugby in SA is an industry of debt. In the meantime, football over the world keeps making more and more money. Football authorities are bothered with one direction: how to make even more money.

Football is a different beast from rugby. Football could have been a profitable venture in SA. Rugby can not.

Favouring rugby over football in a country like SA was a misallocation of resources that could serve as a study case for capitalism students.

Rugby funds rugby in SA and rugby paid for it's own World Cup. The government funded the FIFA WC and even paid for the coach imported from Brazil....not to mention the bribe to the Caribbean.
