Well Sas beat me to Brian Mannix ,the most un-memorable 22 minutes ever played on debut ,his look of wonder on his dopey mug says it all " How did I get here ? do I have to give this jersey back ? What if I drop the ball ?worse still what if  someone accidentally passes me the ball ! Mummy !"

Then ben Blair came to mind ,another deer in the spotlight fool of a boy .but then Nek Minnit..........

Bernie McCahill  !!,not only was he an utterly useless player whats even worse than being a national embarrassment is ......he kept Bunce and then Little from playing in the 1991 RWC .Words fail me.

The thread that runs through most of our most useless is ....John  fecking co-coach Hart .AAARRRGGHHH!!!!

At least Carl hayman beat Mannix to be 1000th AB ! both subbed into the same game as I recall !

Easy one here..Richie McCaw..Fat slob is 100+ caps not out and never bothered to learn the rules around the breakdown.. Embarrassment for AB rugby. Not even a good, humble man ;-)

nothing personal against him Wardad - it's just that in the Wallabies golden era, I am not sure how much his friendship with Gregan made him soft towards Gregan and gave the Wobblies that extra edge in all their wins! and he became very slow at the base of the ruck towards his yester years as an ABs! and now he wants to crucify the ABs at every opportunity as a commentator?

Troy Flavell. The guy was just a thug and always put the ABs under unnecessary pressure with his mindless penalties. I think Bakkies is an angel by comparison. Along with Richard Loe, Flavell is a black mark in the AB legacy. Maa Nonu isn't far behind with his off the ball shenanigans. No place in the ABs for dirty players, no matter how good they may be.  They tarnish and spoil the achievements of their team mates.

I don't remember the exact date but the worst individual performance I've ever seen from an All Black was from Sione Lauaki a few years ago. It was against the Wallabies and Lauaki came on a sub quite early in the second half. I actually quite liked Lauaki when he played for the Chiefs although he always blew a bit hot and cold. When he was good he was great but he could also disappear. In the game I'm talking about, he didn't disappear but he was terrible in every single thing he did . . . giving away penalties, knocking on and missing tackles. Perhaps one of the Kiwis can point me to the exact game?

It was almost Epi Taione-like. Anyone remember Epi Taione's effort for the Sharks against the Hurricanes back in 2008? I've talked about Dean Greyling, Corne Krige, Dave von Hoesselin and Sione Lauaki on these "worst player" threads but their performances all pale into insignificance when compared to Epi Taione's disgraceful effort in (thankfully) his last ever game for the Sharks, where he ended up getting red-carded for a head-butt on one of the Hurricanes players. Easily the worst non-test performance I've ever witnessed.
