Worst Final Of All Time

I cannot believe what I've seen. It was a horrendous horror show of a fixed game. 1 red card offence by Damian, and about 7 yellow card offences by the Boks. They never once played anything resembling good rugby in even one test. At least in 2019 they punctuated it with a dominant display against England. Kwagga was good, not much else. This was the most disgraceful spectacle I've seen since the 2011 WC. Utterly disgraceful. This remains, as ever, the worst ever Boks side in a WC.

Nope, look at the results in other finals. Many were boring blowouts. 

This was a spectacle that went down to the wire and the ABs did themselves very proud.

Would have been great if the reffing was better. But on the whole, that was an epic final that had everything. I mean, when has a losing team in a final been able to hold their heads that high? When has a final gone down to the last seconds of the game with the ultimate loser still having a real shot at winning, and looking like they could win...playing that much of the game with 14 men?

Each side took a hammer blow early...the card and Bongi's injury...and nothing was the same after that.

I mean, that's Holywood script-type stuff.

Seriously, if you were making a rugby movie, that game is your final battle , exactly as it happened. One couldn't script it any better.

So, I gotta disagree, Dues. If tension is any sort of barometer of the quality of the story that unfolded and the entertainment provided, then this WC final is as close to a perfect 10 as there has ever been.

I note DA can't bring himself to admit Beeno called out Doos very early in the day. I also called out his sidekick Mozzz who has been disparaging the Boks day after day as a means of attacking Rassie. It's been obsessional! 

Both these duds totally crashed this world cup.  Unfortunately I am not expecting them to admit they were horribly wrong.

That AB kick that went left of the uprights. If they had noted 2 of Pollard's turning slightly left they might have won.

I was confident it would veer left, same as Mozzie's golf balls veer all over the sho w. 

I was of the same opinion about the quality of the final until it was pointed out to me that in the 2007 tournament the Springboks had the easiest route to the final and played a ho0rribly poor English team consisting  mostly ofc a string of has-beens in the final.   I always thought that was the worst WC final ever, .  S o after being remineded of the fact that the Springboks had to play the strongest teams  in the world to get to the final and a strong AB team - I changed mym mind on the worst final ever issue.   

The one the AB's won by 1 point against the French in 2011 and the one the Aussies won in 1991 was by somne distance the worst two finals - followed by the 2007 final won by SA against the England has-beens.
