So looking into this guy  who now founds himself 3rd in the pecking order for national call up and could come of the bench if either Jantjies or Reinach gets injured.

All I can tell was that due to covid he was pulled into the squad as cover, but he only has 14 provincial  games under his belt,  he is 25 already and not sure how on earth he is  a bok.

Ruan Pienaar is still playing and the Sharks brought him in for the URC, that speaks volumes  of what the sharks thinks and the boks management team

Ruan must be about 36 now. I haven't seen him for a long while. If he can still pass like he used to, he'd be an asset. Right now, the quality and speed of service of our 9s is awful. Though, Reinach, much to my amazement, has improved significantly.

I have seen very little of Williams but can’t see how he is better than Ivan v Zyl, Papier, Nohamba and vd Bergh

Papier is a quality 9 and has rediscovered his form starting for Jake at the Bulls I guess Moz you have not watched a single game Papier has recently played? Yes Papier - I’m being dead serious - he is a class act, just as good as Jantjies

Just a filler call for practice sessions.

SA rugby fans indulge in self blinding, maybe a life saving reflex as it helps them avoiding to watch SA rugby  situation face to face.

SA rugby simply can not afford selecting players with too high a profile for a filler post.

While most other unions multiply games out of the international stage window, SA rugby from the empoverished SA nation even they were kept out of activity for two years due to a severe COVID crisis mismanagement failed to schedule additional games.

Just a quick look at NZ schedule since the end of the championship gives an idea. Certain unions are able to be profitable, others can not.

SA rugby fully depends on the coercion imposed by WR that compells wage payers like clubs to release players for free for international games.

So yeah, when it comes to filler calls, SA rugby can not afford to overprofile.
