Romania loses Ion at the 30th minute against France, scores are 3-3. France scores two tries while he's off and Romania never recovers
Japan loses Matsushima at the 23rd minute against France, scores are 12-7. Scotland fails to take advantage immediately, but blows out Japan in 3rd quarter of game
Fiji loses Maaufu at 30th minute against Australia, scores are 10-3. Australia score 8 while he's off.
NZ loses McCaw (30) and then Smith (37) against Argentina. Argentina was losing 7-9 but are winning 16-12 by the time NZ back to full team
SA loses Oosthuizen minute 79 to a yellow, loses in 84th minute on an overlap try
Canada loses Cudmore in 17th minute, down 3-0. Ireland takes it to 22-0 while he's off
Fiji loses Matawalu 13th minute, England scores unconverted try in his absence

The yellow card alters the course of a game, almost always changing final score and perhaps more often than we are willing to admit it decides who wins or loses. 
Yellows are often the result of attacking pressure, so a corresponding affect on the score may well be the right result.
Good teams take advantage of an opponent who is down one (something we have never been good at).
The standard for a yellow card can be maddeningly subjective, almost arbitrary, depending on the ref and TMO involved in the game and to such a degree that one wonders whether that risk is acceptable when the impact of a card on the game is so substantial.

 Good post Oimatey, thanks. If the yellow is justified then fair enough. All teams know the risks they take with illegal play. Problem is if it is not justified.

I hope your suggesting that transgressing the law is an acceptable practice?

Players have to be held accountable ... and harsh punishment of a sort should be administered.

Perhaps to the individual and not the team as it is now.

We were punished as a group during my national service days and it certainly inspired the transgressor to up his game or face our wrath.

It worked well to gel us into a unit.  

 Yellows are being dished out far too easily at times. They can have a profound influence on the game as even ou JW has at long last recognised.
Now consider this. Boks get twice as many yellows as the wee abs when these sides play eachother. Never mind the other penalties. Wee abs go into amatch with a 20 point or so advantage in most matches.I like the idea of the punishment being to the individual rather than the team and the spectators and television audience. It would take a lot of power out of nz ref in pocket types. 
Again one would want stats and I think they would prove beyond any doubt the favouring of the wee abs. 
We need accountability. Meaningful stats that bshow trends. How each ref blows. How each team gets penalised when playing whomsoever.Lets get to the bottom of the farce. 

 Just watched the game. Unfortunately the ref did have a big influence on this game. The yellow did have some question marks around it & there were a couple of calls against Georgia that were also marginal. 
Still, Argentina were the better team & looked very good. Shame Georgia got blow away on the scoreboard.
