You'd have to think.....

that SARU will have a better than most chance of winning the bid for the 2023 RWC. Excellent stadiums, a great time zone, weather, first class accommodation and a attractive exchange rate are just some of the features making it a very appealing bid. 

Then again. There is the little matter of SA pulling out of presenting the Commonwealth Games after being awarded it. I know that that and SARU are not the same but still. And, of course, there is the little matter of the guarantees that govt has to provide in order to host the event.

 They've made the guarantees....Zuma is parting with one of his prized b ulls.....a kinda of Lobola if you know what I mean.

 The Commonwealth games are allocated to a city - not a country.   Durban got the Games and then could not provide the required funding because of ANC looting of the city resources.  
However - an opinion poll indicated that most people are not interested in the issue - since there are moreproblems facing the locals than to think about WC's etc.

I do not think that SA will win a bid for any major tournament, given the political background. 
It was only recently that the ANC said that they would prevent South African teams from competing at international tournaments if the racial quota targets are not met.
It is too risky to run a tournament in SA, especially if all the work contracts are sold by the ANC to the highest bidder. (i.e. the Gupta's).

 Zupta won't survive past Christmas this year...depends to who the crown goes.

 
France hosted it in 2007 ... England in 2015 and they're just a spit away from Ireland ... and SA back in 1995.

We have the infrastructure already in place.

The last RWC in RSA had a June final.....the 2023 final looks like October. That should be far better for collateral tourism and generate more revenues.

 Moz I have no doubts about South Africa's bid being the strongest by some distance and for all intents and purposes it could be good for the country but hang 5 for a moment...what happens next? Corruption then kicks in and the profit washes away down a gutter.... a well practiced routine.
