In a crushing win 31 year old Djokovic took 32 year old Nadal in straight sets. But both these guys are washed up old men you say...past their sell- by dates. And their opponents in the semis Tsitsipas at 20 and Pouille at 24 are the new wave. Sadly Tsity could only win 6 games off old man Nadal.....and Pouille an embarrassing 4 games off the Joker....in the semis. Hahahaha, youth is served .....a cup of hemlock.......30 is the new 25.

Another plaintive squeak (in the wrong forum nogal ) from the doddering and pompous old septuagenarian trying to convince people that he's still relevant.

Moffie, if that is some kind of challenge then go to www.chess.com, register and challenge Epicurus62 (that's me) to a game.
I suspect you're too much of a blubbering coward and your insults are the same as your other tired and weak insults. You can't back those up either.
Come on then bigmouth, let's see once and for all if you have the minerals. I'm guessing this is just more big talk from a fat-faced fop who couldn't beat his own soft and wrinkled old cock if he had a troop of boy scouts zipped up in a tent.
LMAO!

Ooh a challenge from the loser druggie, alcoholic, fat man....but no, I have no interest, it's not a game I play. It's entertainment enough to read about you going down to Denny and Plum. Perhaps you should stick to playing the equally stupid Clean Cut.

I didn't see him in the semis ... how come ... who knocked him out ... ??

It wasn't a youngster ... was it?

Cera, you need to ensure that your spelling is correct when insulting another person's spelling. That is rule no.1 of counter insulting.
Looks like "your" spelling is not shithot either.
Also, I am pretty sure "shithot" is not a word either. At the very least it is meant to be two words.
I know I should keep quiet because both my spelling and grammar are pretty bad, but I just want to keep things real.

". . . but no, I have no interest, it's not a game I play."
Moffie, I must say that for someone who has no interest in chess you sure talk about it a lot!

No worries, I know you don't play. You don't have the basic requirements for chess . . . but carry on squealing about it if you really are that sad and pathetic that you'd bang on and on about something that doesn't interest you.
Thanks Bluebok. 21 you say? Wehe, I can think of at least one egg-faced old fop who's wishing he hadn't used the Aussie Open to push his stupid age agenda.

Blue, I think those "errors" were deliberate from Cera...don't ask me why, but what I do know is that he is pedantic enough not to make those errors.

Vlag, sorry for calling you pedantic. It's not meant as an insult, but your attention to detail is astounding!

It was clearly deliberate by Ceradyne because of CupCake's attempt to tackle Mozart on the "you" issue.

The No.1 spot in women's tennis has been up for grabs the last few years. It's time someone takes it and makes it their own.

Osaka has all the attributes to be that person.

Koos, making a virtue out of playing chess badly.....and then having the sheer gall to complain about an off rugby topic, when he is totally guilty of the same thing. Stinking fat chess flopping hypocrite. But back to the tennis. Djokovic is hard to define. He hits comfortably inside the lines mostly. Doesn't generate extreme pace....but from the first point yesterday Nadal was dead. It's angles and superb court coverage.....with his Federer like physique if he stays interested he could win for 5 more years. Novak is a French short of the non calendar year Grand Slam, which would make for the best year in tennis for 50 years. Osaka is a superb young player, who caught the tennis world by surprise. Suddenly she looks the class of the field. Terrific on both sides, capable of serving at 120 mph and with a competitor's heart she is going to be hard to beat. Serena, has finally hit a wall at age 37, having had a child. Those are hard factors to overcome. But in all honesty she could lose 20lbs and still hit the ball as hard, which would make a huge difference. She still has a huge serve. I expect there is one more twist in the tail ...er ....tale

Moz, I think it is Novak's ability to be a little more consistent that is giving him the edge at the moment. Sure, he seems to play a little safer than someone like Nadal, but a less aggressive safe shot is still better than an unforced error. I think you may be right regarding Novak's longevity in the sport. By contrast, Nadal's style of play puts huge strain on his body, which is evident from the knee injuries which have plagued him throughout his career. I don't think there has ever been a player that could "fetch" a ball in quite the way that Nadal does, but as I said, that extreme style is taking its toll on his him. It is unfortunate that Murray has seemingly come to the end of his career, not because I like him, quite the opposite in fact, but because when he was on form, any of him, Nadal, Federer or Djokovic could realistically win any tournament. For a long time that dynamic has kept tennis interesting. Before that you had the domination of Lendl, Bekker, Sampras and Federer at the beginning of his career, which made things boring.
Something completely off topic, since Ruckers Forum has unblocked us from swearing, I am sure there has actually been a lot less of it going on. Not that I care, but it once again illustrates that minimal moderation actually results in people being less abrasive. Or maybe we are just growing up...or maybe its just because Saffex doesn't post much anymore? !

Djokovic could very realistically become the greatest player to ever grace the court

He could even surpass Federer with more titles won, if he continues playing like he is
