Worst last line defender I have ever seen in top flight rugby...

Poooooie he is not a clever player either. Needs to be dropped.
Useless.....Wooli-bulli a headless chook and plays like one. A long time Dave favourite.
The one thing I will say in Zane's defence is that he is part of a wider backline malaise that effects SA players.
When he runs the ball up where are the support players. How well do our backs play off the ball.
I would be surprised if a Jordaan if playing for a nz side would not be doing far better.
How the powers that be can't see the need for some decent backline coaching is a mystery. We are so aptently behind the curve that we only have to copy what others are doing to effect a very significant improvement.

Agrees 100% with you on Zane Krichner. He is not up to stadard and should bever ghave ben in Meyers team last year as well.

I have moaned constantly about the lack of backline coaching and the fact that SARU did not find it necessary to appoint specialists to deal with that deficiency. I hope the powers to be wake upp to that fact and does something about it. As long as they regard backline play as something we cannot do - our backline performances will be poor.
Aplon should have been playing at 15 for the boks last year, and hopefully this year. Bob Kirchner has to go
Amazingly one sometimes sees top line rugby players who are uncomfortable with the tackling process. Three of them are currently playing for the Bools.....Kirchner, Spies and JJ Engelbrecht. None of these chaps go low or close their arms. They have a kind of run through tackling style.
It's unacceptable in guys who are in the national team.
It is very frustrating as a Bulls supporter to watch this guy pick out the biggest defender and run straight into him week in and week out. His positional play is good but defence and attacking is a disgrace. What is more frustrating is that the Bulls have two good upcoming fullbacks in Visser and Beyers.
Kirchner was good last year, he has been average this year. Shark you must be joking - Aplon at 15 - never.
Moz you are wrong there has been nothing wrong with JJ's tackling. As Barnacle correctly points out on the SS board, JJ has had issues with alignment thanks to not trusting those on his inside or those on his inside not doing their job to keep the defensive alignment in place.
There has been no issue at all with his tackling this year. As Barn says and what I have been saying all along, he is a big physical guy with good speed and step and one to invest in. He always looks to get involved.
