This kid impresses me at the Sharks....good pace great step and always looking for work.
Ruan Botha is on fire at 5 as well
Love the physicality of du Preez at 7
Stupid call by Lions to rest all their stars

I thought Lukhanyo Am and Jean-Luc du Preez were both fantastic against the Waratahs.
Am looks great on attack and on defence. Add the fact that he's young and he's black and he should be definitely be in the next Springbok squad, if not the starting XV!
Jean-Luc du Preez is an amazing player. I thought he (and his brother) had a few issues with his handling last year but he's sorted that problem out. He is incredibly agile for such a big man and I'm constantly amazed how quickly he gets back into position and is almost always available.
Bit of a blow for the Sharks with the equally hard-working Philip van der Walt's concussion but the good news is that Jean-Luc's twin Dan is back in training and can fill any gap left by van der Walt.

Jantjies was not rested - he is having a baby. Van Rensburg's mother died in the week before the match on 3 March and was buried last week - so he was not taken to Argentina. I do not understand the other players not included and the question remains - when will Combrinck be back - they need him urgently.

Am is 93 kg and 23 years old.Further evidence of talent against best players needed as well as physicality. Can he take the pounding? Lets see him coping with a Nonu type players

Would have loved to have seen Am play alongside someone like Pieter Muller.
That would have been a center combination that would have pulled us through any day and night.

Yeah Rooi the du Preez twins are freaks....their strength reminds me of the Bismarck of old. Always break the first tackle.
Am is the real deal will add depth to the centre department.
Beenkop your stats are wrong Am weighs 98kg although Sky had him at 95kg

Is Am any better than Sithole who was said to be a prospect two years ago?

But there is another way of looking at it.....they are all world beaters done in by pernicious, incompetent coaching. Hell they should have told Stephanie the Italians were going to contest that last lineout and that Youngs unlike lightning always strikes twice.

No it has stuff all to do with the coach....Coetzee is brilliant...just like Lancaster was....Eddie came along and those very same players under Lancaster except for Otoje decided to switch on the light and turn into world beaters over night.
Coetzee is doing us proud

Nobody is defending Coetzee.....that speaks to team performance.....not to individual one on one contests.

You are pointing at PSDT one of the best locks in the game. What's the point of pointing fingers at individual players?
The issue is the coach and his selections and the direction he gives the side. Individuals will make mistakes within that ambit but that's not the issue

Fair point. I agree Coetzee has to go.....it's outrageous to keep a coach who produced totally unprepared teams.
