If I count the amount of posts on here that are informative and compare that number to the amount of posts that are simply intended to insult others, the bad does seem to heavily outweigh the good. So, my question. Why do you all still come here. It's it first a floor to vent some frustration and secondly a place to share ideas and have discussions? Yeah yeah CC. I already know what you'll say. "Well p1ss of then!" In case you hadn't noticed, I've clicked the ignore button on you. Anyway, it seems to become less worthwhile visiting this site. Honestly, I visit video gaming forums, frequented by teens and the conversations are more mature. Actually, a lot more informative and mature. I know it's rich, coming from a relative noob here. But i guess I'm entitled to my opinion. Can't the admins make a separate section for insults? This way, those of us who aren't interested in belittling others can go right to stuff we want to without having to sift through virtual handbag matches just to have a decent discussion? For all Mike's words at Moz, at least he makes posts that one is interested to read. I don't always agree with him, but at least he is willing to think about ideas and share them. I think that's what forums are about right?

Denny, I'm not pointing any fingers at anyone specifically. Just from my point of view, it just seems to me I'm better off visiting bars to talk about sport because at least there one has to man up if you wanna insult someone. Guys, Plum has a point here! I am all for insults here and there because it can be good fun, but at the moment that is all there is on here. Read any thread, and it is the same old boring repetitive shart! It is probably down to the fact that there is no Local rugby worth watching, but still...

 Plum. My guess is we are about to have a very testing year in rugby. Players like JP, Jean, Habana, F du Preez, Jannie, maybe Bismarck, victor, Schalk, maybe Vermeulen with his neck......are goners. That's world class talent....and we don't even have test class talent to replace then with. So it's a bit gloomy.
The only new talents I have confidence in, are Etzebeth and Pollard. Allende has played many tests without creating anything. Kriel is defensively vulnerable. We have no scrum half. The tight head props will be a problem. There are no loosies at test level. Lomp failed in the knockout stages, yet the country wants to put all the eggs in this basket.

It's a woeful prospect and frankly it's hard to find a lot to say about it. But inevitably a few players will emerge. When they do we will have something to talk about.

Rooi, Beans hadn't posted by the time I started typing, so yours was the post above mine and also the first abrasive post on this thread. That is why I singled it out. Anyway, my post was intended as a general statement to everyone...I thought that was obvious enough.

Beeno, anyone can obviously say anything they like. Give and take. It kinda goes without saying and can be a laugh sometimes. But when there is nothing else to read on here aside from people having spats, then it becomes pointless. I don't claim to be better than anyone else. You sound like you know what happened to Wardad. Where is he? Anyway, Moz. Those players are all world class. But, we do have other options and guys coming through. I think Meyer's tenure made things seem a lot worse than they are. Although our S15 performances last year, and the year before would suggest otherwise. Still how do guys like Potgieter become big role players in big teams abroad yet they are relative nobodies on our circuit. I'm with Saffex in that we have ample talent, but i do think we seriously lack rugby brains. The one time we had a good foreigner involved in our setup we did really well. That's why I'd like to see a Kiwi, or even an Englishman take the helm for a few years. It'd be a good experiment and maybe a bit of a wake up call for some of our coaches.

There are literally a million forums out there where people call one another stupid, fat or ugly . . . but I question whether there are even a hundred other forums in the internet where a poster can call another poster a paedophile without getting a banning or at the very least a suspension. 
If you think it's all the same thing then that says something about your own values . . . not to mention all the other posters on this site who choose to stay silent on this issue.

I have had my fair share of arguments- but I try not to take sides in arguments that I was not originally involved in. I think that we should each have our arguments as one on one- without others butting in. This is what seems to escalate the arguments. 
Some posters do not have the guts to take on another poster- instead; they just wait for an argument between other posters- just to take the opposite side.(The Truth Fairy (Aka- the Poof Fairy!) is someone that has never seemed to make any rugby post- and just waits to take sides against individual posters). 

Also, some arguments could just be left on the original thread- instead of being carried across to new threads.
Right or wrong, it is probably inappropriate to refer to race or sexual orientation as fuel for insults. Calling someone g-ay or a paedophile is crossing the borders of what is fair game. Maybe once or twice is fine, but to keep doing so for months and months is taking it a bit too far. 
For new board users- reading this type of stuff could be very offputting. Look at what happened to Israel Fagg- with his Twitter comments. He was lucky to not lose all his sponsors. The Australian athlete that called the Boks fags- was not so lucky. 
Incidentally, these type of insults/slander can actually lead to litigation for defamation of character. (Although in real terms it would be very hard to address through courts because we are in different countries- and courts do not have international jurisdiction)However the spirit of the law does still apply. 
Calling someone fat or bald is harmless stuff. 
I do think religion is open game- because the world may actually much be better without it. Although I could be wrong, so I suppose I have to tolerate the bible bashers. I am sure that religion is making God in one's own image, not the other way around. The only reason I don't write it off as total BS is because every culture in history seems to have it. (at best it is misinterpreted divine inspiration- that has been mutilated by the happy clappies ).
All I can say is when things get too heated, take a break for a few days from the board. I assure you when you come back- things seem much less serious.

What world class talent have Jean, Fourie du Preez, Jannie and Victor displayed over the last two years that makes them losses.    All of them were match losers and the act is that they should never have been in the WC squad.   They are no losses to the Springbok team - their replacement will only improve the Springbok team.   Example is Matfield - he is pathetic playing for Northampton at present.
