The Affies team, also known as the Wit Bulle, established control early on at Goldstone’s, jumping to a 12-5 lead by halftime, thanks to a try from their loosehead prop, Francois de Beer. The momentum continued in the second half with captain Martin van Niekerk leading from the front and driving over the line early on. The team didn’t relent and went on to secure the win by scoring six tries in total.

In other action across KwaZulu-Natal, Northwood laid down a marker by trouncing Glenwood 82-23, and in a nail-biting encounter, DHS and Jeppe ended deadlocked at 21-21.
Over in the Western Cape, a tense match saw Stellenberg squeak past Outeniqua with a 26-21 finish. Stellenberg’s flyhalf, Ethan van Biljon, was pivotal, notching 11 points and making several key defensive plays. The game saw a dramatic twist when Outeniqua’s Franco Pienaar scored, giving his team a brief lead, before Stellenberg’s Daniel Mongie powered through to reclaim the advantage for his team.

Flyhalf Jake Dave was instrumental, contributing a colossal 24 points to his team’s tally.
