Ahmed Leads Junior Boks in Critical Wales Clash

Yaqeen Ahmed is set to rejoin the Junior Boks' lineup after a suspension, stepping into the flyhalf role for the critical World Rugby U20 Championship Pool A encounter against an undefeated Welsh team in Tbilisi. A win in this match will clinch a semi-final berth for the team. Kevin Foote, the team's coach, has strategically refreshed his squad with six new starters from the team that previously triumphed over Georgia, aiming to sharpen their edge in what promises to be a pivotal match.

Coach Foote's tactical adjustments include Alzeadon Felix at fullback and Ethan Adams, who is back from injury, taking up the inside centre position. On the wings, Khuthadzo Rasivhaga is also making a return, while the forward pack sees Risima Khosa, fresh off a hat-trick performance against Uruguay, starting at flank. Vuyo Gwiji will bolster the pack from the No 8 position.

"Georgia gave us the fight we expected,"

commented Foote, reflecting on the robust challenge posed by the host nation in their last game. He praised his team's ability to withstand early pressure and then dominate, securing a well-earned victory. Looking ahead to the clash with Wales, Foote emphasized the necessity of maintaining a high work ethic and battle readiness.

"Wales never go away. They are a gritty outfit and will provide a stern test,"

Foote remarked on the upcoming opponents. He expressed confidence in the selected squad's competitiveness and focus, underscoring the high stakes of the encounter.

Both teams are entering the match with unblemished records, setting the stage for a thrilling contest that will determine the top of Pool A and a spot in the semi-finals. The Junior Boks, currently leading the pool by a narrow margin, are poised for a significant test.
