All Blacks head coach Scott Robertson didn't mince words when he talked about the iconic Eden Park's unbeaten streak ahead of the clash with the Springboks. With New Zealand's last loss at this fortress dating back to 1994 against France, the stakes are sky-high as they prepare to defend their historic turf this Saturday in Auckland.

Since the defeat by France, the All Blacks have transformed Eden Park into a graveyard for visiting teams, amassing 48 wins and two draws, which include a deadlock against South Africa shortly after the 1994 loss. The upcoming game marks the first time the Springboks have played at Eden Park since 2013, where they were beaten 29-15 by the hosts. Historically, the Boks have struggled at this venue, achieving victory only twice, with their last win coming in 1937.

Despite New Zealand’s dominance, the Springboks have recently had the upper hand with four consecutive victories over the All Blacks. This adds an extra layer of tension to the upcoming match. Robertson openly acknowledged the pressure and significance of maintaining their legendary undefeated streak at Eden Park.

"We talk about it with a lot of care, we understand the figures, the history, the facts and the occasion, and that creates enough edge in itself,"

Robertson said, emphasizing how the venue's legacy fuels their preparation and mindset. He further highlighted the deep connection and respect the team holds for Eden Park, a place steeped in rugby lore and personal achievements.

"All the deeds that have been shown on it, the amount of honour and the respect that has been shown each time you run out there and then obviously that is just added to that legacy and every team has got a role and an opportunity to add to it and ours is this week,"

Robertson explained, underlining the emotional and historical weight that comes with each game played at the venue. As the All Blacks gear up for another epic showdown, the blend of historical dominance and recent setbacks sets the stage for a riveting battle, with more than just a game's victory at stake.
