The stage is set for a colossal rugby showdown as the Barbarians gear up to clash with the All Blacks XV this autumn in London. Scheduled for the 1st of November at the London GTech Community Stadium, this matchup is not just a game; it's a historical repeat of the 2022 Killik Cup, where the Barbarians clinched a victory against the same formidable opponents.

John Spencer, the President of Barbarian FC, couldn't hide his enthusiasm about the upcoming game.

"The Barbarians and the All Blacks XV are two of the most iconic names in rugby, and it is great to see them come together for another huge occasion this autumn in London."

He reminisced about the longstanding rivalry that has delivered some of the most electrifying moments in rugby history, including the legendary Gareth Edwards try in 1973.

The All Blacks XV, often seen as a crucible for refining New Zealand's burgeoning rugby talents, has shown its prowess in recent matches, including victories against Munster and a strong showing in Montpellier. Chris Lendrum, New Zealand Rugby's general manager of professional rugby and performance, highlighted the importance of such matches for player development.

"There's history between the Barbarians and the All Blacks XV, so we know this will be a competitive and exciting match for the fans and for the players,"

Lendrum stated.

The fixture not only promises to be a thrilling encounter but also marks a historic first for the Barbarians, as they play at the Gtech Community Stadium for the first time. Fran Jones, Brentford FC’s commercial director, expressed great pride in hosting these iconic teams. "It’s a privilege to welcome two iconic sides to Brentford. This fixture promises to be an exciting occasion, showcasing big names alongside rising talent in the sport. We look forward to opening our doors to rugby fans and giving them a day to remember," Jones said.

With a rich history and a lineup of legendary players who have donned the famous black and white hoops, the Barbarians are not just playing a match; they are continuing a legacy. This November, London will be more than just a city; it will be a witness to rugby history in the making.
