On a brisk Saturday at Loftus Versfeld, the Vodacom Bulls displayed their dominance with a pulsating 54-19 victory over the Italian stalwarts, Zebre. The Bulls, clinching eight tries to Zebre's three, solidified their third-place standing in the URC, leading 26-12 by halftime. Next up, the Bulls will clash with Benetton, while Zebre heads to Durban to face the Sharks.

The match kicked off with a bang as Willie le Roux, the Bulls' flyhalf, showcased his magic by completing a spectacular coast-to-coast effort within the first three minutes. Not long after, Sergeal Petersen broke through the midfield, setting up Canan Moodie, who marked his return from injury with a try. "Canan Moodie is back with a bang," the crowd roared in approval.

"Willie Le Roux doing Willie Le Roux things."

Despite their early dominance, the Bulls witnessed Zebre claw back momentarily when Jacopo Trulla intercepted a pass from Moodie to score. However, the Bulls quickly extinguished any flicker of hope for the Italians as Kurt-Lee Arendse's swift hands released Cheswill Jooste, who dashed down the right flank to score.

The Bulls continued their scoring spree, securing a bonus-point try before halftime, courtesy of Petersen once again, who finished a well-orchestrated play from Arendse. Zebre's Giampietro Ribaldi did manage to push over from a lineout, adding some respectability to the scoreline at the break.

Post halftime, the Bulls absorbed some initial pressure from Zebre but soon extended their lead as Ruan Vermaak broke away to score, set up perfectly by Harold Voster. "Harold Voster sets it up perfectly for Ruan Vermaak," echoed through the stadium's speakers as the fans cheered.

Zebre's resilience saw scrumhalf Thomas Dominguez add a try, but the Bulls' relentless attack proved too much with Cameron Hanekom, Harold Vorster, and Jeandré Rudolph all crossing the whitewash. Willie le Roux was near flawless with the boot, converting seven of the eight tries.

The match also marked a significant milestone for Embrose Papier, who surpassed Joost van der Westhuizen as the most-capped scrumhalf for the Bulls with his 170th appearance.

In a display of sheer power and finesse, the Bulls showed why they are serious contenders for the playoffs, leaving Zebre to ponder what might have been in a tough outing away from home.

BULLS – Tries: Willie le Roux, Canan Moodie, Cheswill Jooste, Sergeal Petersen, Ruan Vermaak, Cameron Hanekom, Harold Vorster, Jeandré Rudolph. Conversions: Le Roux (7).

ZEBRE – Tries: Jacopo Trulla, Giampietro Ribaldi, Thomas Dominguez. Conversions: Martin Roger Farias (2).
