In a display that bordered on the theatrical, the Cheetahs decimated Romania A with a 47-14 victory in Bloemfontein, showcasing their depth with 14 new faces in the starting lineup. The highlight of Wednesday's match was Prince Nkabinde’s stunning hat-trick, which left the Romanian defense grappling with shadows.

The game kicked off with the Cheetahs setting a blistering pace, nabbing a 14-0 lead within the first six minutes and hammering home a 28-7 advantage by halftime. Despite a lineup shuffle, the team's cohesion remained unshaken, epitomizing the strength in their ranks.

Post-intermission, Romania A briefly threatened to turn the tide, challenging the Cheetahs at the scrum and pinning them back with prolonged offensive phases. However, their resilience crumbled when Nkabinde, the man of the moment, completed his hat-trick by the 54th minute, effectively slamming the door on any hopes of a Romanian comeback.

"It was one of those days where everything clicked right from the get-go. Scoring early always helps, but seeing everyone step up today was particularly satisfying,"

said an ecstatic Nkabinde after the game.

Romania A managed to squeeze in a solitary second-half try through Hinckley Vaovasa, but it was too little too late. The Cheetahs, on the other hand, weren’t done yet, adding two more tries to their tally late in the game, cementing their commanding position in the Toyota Challenge.

The scorers for the Cheetahs were De-an Ackermann, Prince Nkabinde (3), Ethan Wentzel, Thabang Mahlasi, and Gideon van der Merwe. Tiaan Swanepoel and Cohen Jasper shared the kicking duties, adding conversions to bolster their side's score.

For Romania A, Jason Tomane and Hinckley Vaovasa crossed the whitewash, with Alin Conache and Jondré Williams each adding a conversion.

With this victory, the Cheetahs continue to dominate the early rounds of the Toyota Challenge, promising more thrilling rugby action as the tournament progresses. Next, they face the formidable Black Lion, promising another explosive encounter.

The team line-ups for the day included notable performances from both sides, setting the stage for upcoming fixtures in the Toyota Challenge.
