Hi Ruckers

I hope you are doing well.

We've been doing a lot on our end to speed up the time it takes for the forum page to load.

With the forum volume increasing on a weekly basis, we've made some notable background updates in order to speed the load time up.

We thank you for your understanding and patience!

Please don't be shy to let us know if you have any suggestions.

Thanks again

Yours in rugga

Ed

Thanks again Ed.

At the office we dont even have ADSL yet... dont laugh! So it was taking about 15 seconds to open the forum up.

Now its down to 1.5 seconds (i timed it :) )

Shot for all the effort! We love you :)

Yes indeed the traffic is up and the board is doing very well. Speeding up the response time will help. Or will it? it dawns on me that if you could selectively slow ou jallopy up that could in fact be a boon!!! Hahahhahaha

But thanks Ed for a great website and all the efforts.

As for requests/suggestions some good smileys would brighten things up but maybe they slow things down?

Thanks for the continuous improvement. This forum is functioning very well now, with probably the best overseas participation I have seen on these forums. I'm not sure how to do this, but it would be interesting to get a few Argentinian posters.

Wondering if it would be possible to have the ability to respond directly to a certain post like you can in comments to articles on the main page. Instead of there just being a long line of comments with one comment after another and some comments referring to a post that is several comments above.

I think that would be a nice enhancement, not sure if others agree

Oimatey,

Bang on. In each persons post there should be a "report Abuse", and a "reply", or "Quote and reply" clicky thingy......The report abuse would go directly to Ed and he can moderate as he see's fit, instead of him just having to read every thread looking for certain things.

This is the one I frequently use here in Canada.

Click on a thread and check it out. I'm not saying this forum should be like this one I've provided, but it is a very well moderated forum that is very easy to use. It also has a certain amount of posts to a page. Which is much nicer Imo. Pages, Ed!

Agreed Canman, it would also be nice if you would automatically go to the first unread post when opening a page. I must also agree with Moz, I quite enjoy the international flavor.

DbDraad,

"it would also be nice if you would automatically go to the first unread post when opening a page."

I agree. In the link I provided, that forum has the persons screen name who posted last, and how long ago. If you click on the how long ago (eg: 8 minutes ago) it takes you directly to the last post of the thread from that poster.
