Hi Mike

I hope you are well.
We're trying to attract some new users via social media.

Please could i ask you to keep an eye on your spelling? Especially in the titles of your posts.
All of our titles get listed on Facebook and Twitter and yours come up with some adventurous spelling errors.

Yours in tugga
Ed

Also, please Mike, understand when to use "is" and when to use "are". It's such a simple rule man.

Example 1

The bird(singular) is flying

The birds(plural) are flying.

Example 2

Mike(singular) is making too many spelling errors.

We(plural) are struggling to understand him.

Summary

Use the word "is" after a singular(he,she, it, that, this, John) EG John is clever. Mike says he is clever too, i don't believe him.

Use the word "are' after a plural(Lions, they, we, us, people, flowers, cars, chips) EG Lions are legends. SBW and his friends are still admiring nude selfies of Warner's wife.

I think I should stop posting at night - when I really make the most horrible mistakes - but then at 75 maybe I should stop posting altogether.

Hahahahhahahaha Plum!

However as one who occasionally makes an error  have some sympathy with ou maaaaike. All one needs to do is read through your post once make the necessary correctons and especially correct whatever the spell check is saying is wrong.

The heading is a problem AS IT CANT BE CORRECTED.  HENCE ED CANT YOU MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR THE HEADING TO BE EDITED BY THE PERSON INITIATING THE POST.

OU MAAAI KIE DON'T FEEL TOO BAD OAK.  THERE IS NOBODY HERE WHO DOESN'T MAKE ERRORS.

Glad to hear it Ed. We need fresh blood. Mike you're Afrikaans, don't stress about the grammar nazis.....spelling on the other hand is easy enough to get right with spell check etc etc.

Ed

I always found out afterwards about the errors in the heading - but it is impossible to correct it.   Is it not possible to change the system  and allow for correction of headings as well?

Might I suggest a solution Tokkie....two generic headlines. 1 Great new Talent. 2 Time to drop the Old Guys. I think you will find 95% of your postings comfortably fit under one of these two headings....thus allowing you to post in the dark hours of the night without fear.

@Draad & Beeno

I'm just raggin the old man.

We all know the site wouldn't be half of itself without him.

He are a good guy :)

I think Maaik's errors have more to do with eye-sight problems than spelling ability.

Edd, stop picking on Maaik and get an EDIT function for thread headings too.

Totally agree with you Draad, Mike, Beeno and Plum...topic headings should be allowed to edit...how often does one find they have made a silly error and cannot change it, Ed.

Thanks in anticipation.

@ Seb

If we could erase all our mistakes the world would be very sparsely populated.

Mikey could look to Beandork and his struggles with language as a second language.

"a spell checker could be a good idea."

It's as simple as that. Well said.

An IQ checker before being allowed to log on would be good .You know questions like "what is you favourite colour " or " what is the weight of an unladen swallow"or " is beendork dumber than a fence post ?"

Should weed out a few.
