Onwards and updards

Hi Ruckers

I hope you are all doing well and are looking forward to this weekend’s big game!

Apologies for the lack of communication over the past week! We have had to keep mum (for as much as possible) about the site happenings for a number of reasons.

In saying that, we are glad that you are all still with us! RuckersForum is not going anywhere!

As mentioned 3 weeks ago, we are going to start phasing in some new forum and website features for you to enjoy.

We also have an exciting development which we are about to launch for the Ruckers on the move! (Read between the lines)...

All in all it has been an incredibly busy period for us during the prelaunch and rebranding of the site. If you do have any comments or feedback, you can mail us directly at ed@ruckersforum.com and we will field your queries and comments accordingly.

So looking forward to the game on the weekend, we will be holding our hearts in our hands believing that the Bokke will be able to break the dominant All Black run with a pumping win at Fortress Ellis to, wrap up the Championship season on a high, but we know it won’t be easy.

We’re looking forward to catching up with you all from time to time, but please drop us a mail if you have any queries!

Until next time!

Yours in rugga

Ed

Thanks for keeping this together Ed - and its nice to see the wizard behind the curtain is a legit Bok fan.
Say Ed - you vouched for Ole Cruz as Tomas. How about reaching out to him and see if he would make a guest appearance or column? Would love to read some inside perspective.

We have a great forum here & feel we are making progress in schooling a few weee bok fans, it would be a shame to see all that hard work go for naught.

Thanks Ed for all the work - it looks good so far.

Its continued growth will now largely depend on members spreading the word.

There is still something strange about all of this. I did a search for something last night and found something strange with the search. I just tried it again. When you do a Google search for something from the forum, you can, or could, normally type in SARugby/Ruckersforum and a few keywords and then take it from there to end up on the thread/s that you wanted to access. I just did a search on Google again, and I put the following into the search box:

"sarugby  clevermike Meyer is not thinking about that at all - we know what Meyer is thinking"

This was the search result:

"Who did Meyer leave out....that will make a difference. - SA ...www.sarugby.com › RugbyGeneral Stuff30 Oct 2012 - 61 posts - ?9 authorsFrankly I think it's a terrible squad, but that's the state of our game right now. .... On attack he is as harmless as a paper doll - and not clever enough to outwit ... Mike not one of your incremental suggestions would make the bench. .... jj englebrecht has not has the most promising start, but we all know hes a ...The Ruckers Forum - SA Rugby, Springbok, Super ...28 posts30 Aug 2014So what is HM thinking in his selections - SA Rugby ...49 posts13 Aug 2014SA Rugby, Springbok, Super Rugby and Currie Cup ...30 posts6 Aug 2014Lets hope Meyer's poor experiment is over "

When you click on the first link, it should open up this thread:
http://ruckersforum.com/forum.cfm?threadid=11426

It does not. This is what you get:
Not Found The requested URL /world-rugby-union/south-news-home/forum.cfm was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocume nt to handle the request.

The interesting part of the above is that when you look in the address bar of the above landing page, you will see that you have been redirected to this web address:

Now obviously the result you are searchig for does not exist on planet.
Now please relax and take a deep breath. There is nothing strange going on. Lol

@Draad. Nee nie rerig nie. Ou Maaikie, en enige ou wat in die verlede ka gepraat het, moet nie te rustig slaap nie. Daar is nog steeds 'n manier. Ek sal jou weer sê as jy wil weet hoe.

@Ou Maaikie. I have shown you just last week that you are actually more on my case, than what I am on yours. You do not really want to go there again, do you?

That is exactly why it seems strange to me. We were told that from 1 October we would have to go to Planetrugby. Then we are told that nothing is going anywhere.

Then there was this quote from the OP:

"In saying that, we are glad that you are all still with us! RuckersForum is not going anywhere!"

Despite the above, you are redirected to Planetrugby. You get the same results when you use RuckersForum instead of SARugby.

I can still find any old post in another way. Look at this, without searching on Google:

I was surprised to see Genia gas Smith, and Cruden so easily and then bamboozle Dagg.....what a try.

The URL for the above is http://ruckersforum.com/forum.cfm?threadid=5884

I have to admit that I am not that clued up with the technicalities behind the cache, etc on search engines. I may sound totally stupid and it might not even have any bearing on the cache that you are referring to but I have cleaned the cache on my browser and I still get the same issue.

Another culprit who has sighed a premature sigh of relief but you still have to be wide awake. Your BS is all still on record and can be found. I have never misquoted you or anybody. Whenever I quote something, it is accompanied by a copy and paste from the original and quite often with a link as well.

You and Mozart are welcome to live in the past - as you always want to.   According to you what people wrotte three years ago becomes a mortal sin now.   Nobody can learn and change their minds on issuess.    So please carry on with your stupidity.

No Maaikie. It is not really that. What gets to me is when someone deny that he has said something, even when confronted with the truth. The other issue is when someone denies any facts that are put in front of them, that contradicts what he/she is/was saying.

A lot of BS can be avoided by just saying something like: "Yes, I have said that, but I have changed my opinion because of this, that and the other", instead of "you stupid [removed][removed][removed][removed] you know [removed] about [removed] rugby. Or "you dim [removed][removed] what do you know you only have one braincell, etc". Or the other one which is to just sneak away from the argument and then bring the same BS up again in another thread a few days/weeks later.

As I said a few times: As jy nie kak praat nie, hoef jy nie te onthou nie.

@Ceradyne, the archive of old posts will be lost in Google.
When changing a domain a 301 redirect needs to be setup. It can either be done just to the home page, or individually by each post/page.
Googles explanation of a 301 redirect
(The 301 redirect is going to planet-rugby).
Although the editor did mention that one of the new features is to be able to bring up the comments that others have made in the past. This will be an archive that is accessible on this website, instead of in Google.

Mozart try clicking on the links in Google, they are all broken planet rugby links. The forum search works in the same way though, by using the keywords of the title.
Click the word lose into the forum search, and it brings up all the posts with this word in the title
