Rassie Erasmus is excited about the impending Rugby's Greatest Rivalry tour, where South African clubs including the Stormers, Sharks, Vodacom Bulls, and Lions will face off against the legendary All Blacks. This series, which also features four Tests against the Springboks, is set to revive the long-lost tradition of full-fledged rugby tours.
Erasmus reminisced about the impact such tours had in the past, particularly highlighting his own experiences from the 1997 British & Irish Lions tour. He believes this series will provide unforgettable memories for today's players and fans alike.
"It's very special. I played my first Test for the Springboks during that tour, but also participated in a midweek game for the Cheetahs against the Lions. It was the last real tour I was part of. I framed that Free State jersey."
The series is expected to be a particularly novel experience for many players, given that South African teams no longer compete in Super Rugby. This disconnect from regular encounters with New Zealand teams adds an exciting layer of unpredictability and freshness to the matches, according to Erasmus.

"To face the haka, to face an All Black team in a midweek clash is a massive honour. The first time you face it will be really special and I think our local crowds will really be spoilt and our players will really be honoured."
