Hi Ruckers
As promised, we've got something new for you. We've launched the Rugby Wizz which is a subscriber based rugby quiz.
We've put a lot of effort into the dynamics of the game, so we really hope that you enjoy it.
The quiz is a combination of points and time.If users are deadlocked on points, those who do it in a quicker time, will take the lead.Though you can play as many times as you'd like, only your first entry will earn you points.

We've loaded one quiz for now, just so that you can get the hang of it.

Please try it out and let us know your thoughts.
We'll load more quizzes intermittently.
Have fun.
Yours in ruggaEd

Thanks Ed.

I was useless. I got 5/10.

I see ou Maaik scored 9/10 but he took a staggering 21 minutes. That tells me ou Maaik looked everything up and still got something wrong! LMAO!

My only complaint is that the answers are in grey against a slightly different shade of gtray backgtound. I struggled to read the answer choices.

Otherwise it's quick, easy to use and fun! Thanks!

Ed how about penalizing excessive time? That’s bullshit that he took 20 mins to answer 10 questions.

I just took it and got 8/10. However, if CleverMike gets points deducted for cheating, then I should be at the top of the leader board.

Hi Ruckers

We've noted our dear friends clevermike's methods.

We're looking at capping the amount of time you have to complete the quiz.

We're working at around 20 seconds per question.

Hope you've enjoyed playing.

More quizzes will be loaded. We may mix it with a bit of cricket too!

as well as some official comps where we'll be giving away prizes. But first we need to sort the timing issue out.

Yours in rugga

Ed

Maaik did not cheat. He exploited an obvious loophole in the rules.

I did not cheat and used less than 20 seconds per question in average I believe, in some I knew the answer - in others I did a quick checkup on facts.  So of it takes 20 seconds per question I suggest a  3 minute time limit on answering the 10 questions.

Anyway how was that 21 minutes calculated - I opened the site and it took time to get to the  questions.   The computer service of the are where I live is very slow and problematic and I at times have to reboot the router in the middle of discussions.  Fact is I tried to get a new router from Telkom and I was advised to get one at their office in George,  Cannot travel as all may be aware,

20 x 10 = 200 seconds

3 minutes = 180 seconds

I tried it without my glasses and then fumbled around in the dark to find my glasses before continuing...I managed to do it in just over 3 minutes.  3 minutes is more than enough time.

I don't know about internet latency though.  I have good internet speed and this site can still be laggy at times. Can't see that it can be a major problem though.

or to scared to accept the challenge.

It takes 3 minutes, unlike fantasy rugby that takes ages.

Hi Ed,
Just some feedback, I thought the first quiz was much better than the second. It tested rugby knowledge, and if someone does not know the exact answer, they can at least cross off other options to narrow down the answer. (multiple-choice scenario).
The second test would require someone with a photographic memory as it asks for very specific numbers - sometimes they vary only by 1 or 2. (e.g. how many tests has someone played). I doubt many people would know the answer to this without using Google.
I think having a question like which player has the most tests between a few players, is better than asking how many tests a specific player has played.  I just guessed the ones that required a specific number value as the answer.

Edd, different angles and formats will advantage/disadvantage different posters. Please try and stay away from a type cast formula. Variation is the spice of life! I think the first 2 rounds were fine. The last one was a killer, but it's the same for everyone....thanks for doing this.

Mike, the quiz doesn't pause if you take a trip to the toilet in the middle of it. Or a trip to your wanking device.
