Stormers Strengthen Squad for Pumas Showdown
Coach Tom Dawson-Squibb has adjusted the Stormers XXIII’s lineup with five strategic changes for the upcoming showdown against the Pumas this Saturday in the Currie Cup duel at Nelspruit. Significantly, the forward pack sees four new faces stepping in to amplify strength and strategy.

In the pack, props Mhleli Khuzwayo (1) and Herman Lubbe (3) along with loose forwards Wandile Mlaba (8) and Keke Morabe (6) are geared up to bring fresh vigor to the game. This recalibration of the forwards is intended to overwhelm the Pumas with sheer power and finesse.

On the wing, Joel Leotlela (14) will be making his season debut, stepping in for Suleiman Hartzenberg who sustained a minor injury in the previous game against the Cheetahs. The backline reshuffle is minimal but potentially impactful with Leotlela’s fresh legs and zeal.

"We are very happy to have the likes of Wandi, Keke and Herman back in the starting lineup after featuring in the match against New Zealand last week, and we expect them to add some grunt up front," said Dawson-Squibb.

The only other notable addition is on the bench with JC Mars (23) providing additional backline support. Alongside him, halfbacks Ezekiel Ngobeni (21) and Kyle Smith (22) are on standby, ready to bring dynamic changes if needed.

Dawson-Squibb also commented on the challenge of playing at the Mbombela Stadium. He highlights the necessity of maintaining focus and sharp execution to secure a victory against a resilient Puma squad.

"It is always tough to go to Mbombela Stadium, and we will need to be on the money throughout to secure the win, but it is a challenge that we are looking forward to."
