Update from Ed (3 of 4)

Hi Ruckers

Ok, so we've been at it again.

We received no less than 12 emails and 6 posts asking us to update the format of the Ruckers Forum.

So what we've done is made it quite a lot simpler to comment on "current" topics.

  1. The post which has been commented on most recently will now always appear at the top.
  2. We've reduced the number of forum groups.
  3. The "Last Post" bug has now been fixed.

Please let us know your thoughts.

There are still 1 or 2 things we are busy with, like being able to view all historic posts, all of your own comments and posts and the ability to get email alerts on selected posts whenever someone makes a comment on a post which you're intrested in.

So we're hard at work and will keep at it, but please... if you find any bugs in the new format, let us know. We'd love to be make your experience online with us as pleasurable as possible.

Thanks again.

Until next time

Ed

Nice one Ed.

I dig it.

So much easier to keep in touch with the current topic of discussion.

Ed, there is a thread about cricket on the rugby forum. Will that be allowed or will it be moved to the cricket forum? (Thread no 6 on the rugby forum).

PS. Since the thread was started by Mozart, I suggest that, should you deem it necessary to move it, you just make sure to discuss it with him first. He gets very excited if you move his posts/threads around without clearing it up with him and getting his permission first. Even if it is your site and your decission.

Soooooo Ceradyne you are an SS poster. Your old nick not good enough? And just to clear up when I get excited, it's when my response to an attack is moved, after the attack was allowed to stink up the Board for hours without being moved.  When that happened a few times with nasty posts by Fireman and the gadfly Bedpan I decided the playing field wasn't level.

In this particular case I posted in the new format, before scrolling all the way down to find the Cricket section.  My immediate impression was we had consolidated to one forum. Had I scrolled down, I would have posted in the cricket forum, so moving that posting poses no problems whatsoever.

Ag ou Mossie, you have clearly got the cat by the ghoens again. I was a member of this board long before the SS board was even started. You have obviously missed that part again. Once again the good doctor has made a perfectly human mistake. When us mere mortals do something like that it is always proof of pure stupidity.

Shame it must have been have been pure hell being victimised like that by the ugly and vindictive Taipan and TC Fireman. I could swear that your gripe was about your threads being moved. I must have been mistaken then.

A mobile version of this site would be great.
