This is like what the far-right politicians in the US are doing. They are linking LGBT with paedophilia - despite no evidence that the statistical average varies based on sexual orientation.

This type of stuff seems to work with the religious base (like Trump's base).  Notice how Putin says that God says LGBT Is wrong in the Bible, and then goes on to link LGBT with paedophilia and the West. 
It is demonising the other side. (Good vs Bad) etc, etc. Primitive stuff, of Cane vs Abel. God vs the Devil.

No mention that the Church itself has the highest level of association with the practice than any other organisation in the world. (Churches have been raided all around the world by police).

Not that this means all religious people are such, but it does raise questions about why religious people can be guilty of accusing non-religious people of this horrendous act.
