"A batting collapse by the Proteas aside, India won’t get their first test series win in SA after all."

Ag nee man Plum, are you shitting me? Batting collapses are our specialty (is my grammar correct? A specialty is supposed to be singular?...Where is Rudehole when you need him?)

We are looking good ATM, but it's a pity Elgar won't be there tomorrow...told you 3rd day afternoon is the best batting at Newlands...and the weather complied too. The groundsman should get a medal. Very good test pitch.

PS, if we had a drier summer, day 2 might have been better.

What’s your prediction, Draad? Proteas get there with 3 wickets to spare?

Shit, I hope so. Mornings at Newlands are tough, but it's lank hot already...If we can get trough the first hour or two without loosing more than 2 wickets, we should be fine...difficult to get in on this pitch.

I say send it Rabada next and let him try hit some boundaries. A quick 10 or 20 will put the Indians on the back foot.

...and that's why I'm not a coach haha

Haha the review from Kholi...

Dussen hits the ground as the ball passes the bat but there are two spikes with the most abrupt one being as the ball passed the bat . For me, that was probably out but not enough evidence to overturn the on-field decision.

Eish, poor Kholi.

Pietie looks a little vulnerable to the length ball that angles in from slightly wide of the channel.

Perhaps the result of being eager to score. Can't blame him for trying to stay positive.

OMG Pietie is dropped by Pujara.

Couldn't ask for an easier catch at 1st slip but he shells it in comedic fashion. It came slowly to him at chest height and he didn't have to move an inch yet never managed to get even a finger on the ball.

Fast asleep.

Didn't expect such an aggressive aproach on a  early morning Newlans pitch...it's working, but we were lucky a few times.

Easy-peasey...7 wicket victory...beating t he no 1 team after losing the toss and batting second in all 3 tests...we are not nearly where we should be, but we're not rubbish either.

Indeed, comfortable in the end. Not sure if anyone saw/read what Kholi was saying into the stump mic yesterday after the DRS decision involving Elgar? He spoke into the mic, seemingly directly addressing the coverage team, and said something along the lines of “You should be looking to see the way the Proteas are shining the ball.” Hotheaded, unfair, outrageous…but one has to wonder if he would say that if India weren’t suspicious of SA tampering with the ball. I’m not saying it is the case but it was an interesting incident and I do hope there ain’t much truth to it. It does fall in line with the way that SA bowlers absolutely dominated India’s batsman. Again, not saying our bowlers cheated, but looking at the incident and our bowling performance, one could objectively assume that there is something to Kholi’s comments.

Congratulation to the  Protreas for winning - but I agree with Dave about the batting line-up,   I would say Rickelton and not Markram should open the batting.   I would drop Van der Dussen and replace him with Van Tonder or Markram.    Another player in the squad should be Malan

Petersen seems to be better than we gave him credit before - and he should get full credit for that,

By the way the IPL controllers seems unhappy about another threat to the series being held in India  and is holding back on the issue to see how the virus affects India in future,   Alternatives mentioned were SA and  SriLanka.

Jansen  will be a very wealthy guy by Mid-June - the estimated  R10 million he c ould earn from the IPL will take care of that.

As individual cricketers, I think the Indian players are fantastic, but I don't like their mentality. They have completely been against technology from day one and want to leave it to human error instead or trying to pressure the umpires which they have always done. Now they are trying to put pressure on the technology team.

I thought our bowling was great, but they seem to be bowling 10kph slower than normal. Now ways Radabe is a 130kph bowler.

Indians don't like batting on SA pitches, the like to whip the ball around with their wrist but against seeming pitches it is not so easy.

So strange that our batsmen look comfortable in the 4th innings, chasing a low score. Why could they not post 400 + in both innings.

I also question why we had a spinner in the team, he only took 1 wicket, should have gone with an extra batsmen and a bowling all rounder.

Given that all of the wickets were taken by Jansen, Ngidi and Radabe.

Lots of work still to do, we need to get the batting sorted ASAP.

A pleasant relief, maybe our cricket will find it's way home again...a win is certainly encouraging, especially against India. Well done Proteas.

"I also question why we had a spinner in the team, he only took 1 wicket, should have gone with an extra batsmen and a bowling all rounder. "

The spinner is there to give the fast bowlers a rest...South Africa rarely has a striking spinner.
