The rankings of De Kock is at present as follows:-

Tests

De Kock is at present ranked as the number 11 batsman in the world and since there are not any tests being played over the next three months he is likely to remain around that ranking for a while.

Another aspect to be borne in mind is that he normally on test level bats at not 6 in the batting line-up,   None of the 10 players above him bats that low in the batting order.   He may in future bat at 5 0 which could have an impact on his ratings.

ODI's

De Kock's present rating is 7 and but may be affected again by the upcoming series against Australia,  The two players at 5 and 6 are Du Plessis and Warner are both going down fast in the rating and De Kock has a good chance o overtake them in the upcoming series against Australia.

T20I

Rated at 16 - but his performances against England over the last week has not been factored in yet.  Likely to move him up into the top ten.

Wicket-keeper Batsman

This rating is impacted and affected by -

*    the number of runs scored and the rating of players in that category; and

*    the number of catches and stumpings affected - coupled to the number of runs saved by the wicket-keeper

Taking the above into account there are no wicket-keepers above him in the ratings as batsmen and his perfrmances as a wicket-keeper, De Kock is by far the best wicket-keeper/batsman in World Cricket at present,

AB is the anomaly when ranking Quintie.

We should be saying that Quintie is our best ever keeper-batsman. However, given the choice, most would prefer AB.

Maybe - maybe not.   For a major part if AB's international career Boucher was the Proteas wicketkeeper.    After Boucher's retirement in 2012  AB was for about two years a regular wicketkeeper and then claimed back problems and was replaced by De Kock - in limited overs games in 2013 and in tests in 2015.   On the whole AB's wicketkeeping was limited.

Mike..... since January 2019 till today, Warner has played 13 ODI's

He ended 2019 after playing 10 ODI games, scoring 647 runs, at a strike rate of 89.36, and an average of 71.89

He has played 3 games already in 2020, scoring 146, at a strike rate of 111.45, and an average of 73.00

If that is the sign of a player going down fast..... then please put all the current players going down fast.…. into the SA side immediately

Mike,

Yes, thanks for the history lesson on AB's keeping career.

I'm saying, AB is a better bat than Quintie and just as good a keeper.

...in other words he's the better of the two.

Anyway I did not intend to deal with the comparison issue  since in fact AB was never really the full time keeper.   He suffered from back problems  which he claimed  was the result of wicket keeping and was even out of cricket as a result.   So even though he did keep wicket for  short periods he is not  classed as a Wicketkeeper  -   a batsman used for wicketkeeping for a s hortish while during his career.

AB was always a very competent "stop gap keeper"...who gave us a real good edge ...but QdK is our top bat ATM and is an actual keeper to boot ...no wonder AB is contemplating a return.

...and AB, unlike Quintie, didn’t take us out of WC 2016 by failing to gather a throw and missing the stumping that lost the match.

I quote:

‘The South African openers were put under immense pressure. Quinton de Kock's short stay was characterised by fear in his eyes, looking for all the world like a man on the verge of a panic attack.

De Kock's nerve broke, charging down the pitch to Boult and flashing a thick edge to Southee on the third man boundary. He left the field on the verge of tears.’

And...

 Quinton de Kock

(Mts: 8; Runs: 145; Bat Ave: 20.71; Cts: 9; Sts: 1)
The senior players – in runs and words – were prepared to carry De Kock’s weak form through the group stage in the hope he’d come good in the knockouts. This didn’t really transpire, but there’s no begrudging a young talent that’ll be significantly more experienced come the 2019 quest for redemption in England. Rating: 5/10

And...

Missed run-out of Elliott, 41st over of 43

- South Africa wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock failed to gather a low throw from Rilee Rossouw and knocked the bails off with his gloves, with Elliott, going for a risky second run, outside of the crease by a distance.

Had Elliott been run out for 66, it would have left New Zealand 272 for six.’

And....

A member of the ignominious Flop Team:

3 Quinton De Kock (Wicket Keeper)

Quinton de Kock has made just 145 runs from 8 in this World cup opening with Hashim Amla. (Photo Source: AFP)

‘South African opener Quinton De Kock was one of the brightest young talents coming into the World Cup 2015 but could not show even a glimpse of his prowess in the entire World Cup as he only scored 145 runs in the eight matches he played in the tournament. Barring the half century (78) that De Kock scored against Sri Lanka in the quarter finals he failed to get going in any of the contests.’

I rest my case.

I rest may vase - Liar in action again   It was a poor throw by Rossouw that bounced badly off another pitch  nobody would have caught the ball.   That was the case then and that is the case now.

Anyway your BS about De Kock started in 2013 because he replaced Smith and as been ongoing since then.   Keep it up - you are a bloody joke.

Nobody would have caught a bouncing ball....hilarious. He lost the match by botching something any competent keeper would have executed. Not because he is incompetent, but because he can’t stop from panicking under pressure.

And while he has had some good innings in the current series, he has never had the guts and application to convert that into a win for his team. You can count on Ockie....you can count on him to give up his wicket just when he is in a position to win the match.

That is a total lie again,  De Ko ck had the following number of centuries  and fifties in the game:-

                        Centuries      50's        Strike Rate

Tests                       5               21                70.95

ODI's                     15              25                94.94

T20I's                      0                 5               85,55

He played in 47 tests and in 26 he made either centuries or 50's

 - batting in tests at 6 it is a remarkable achievement. The list of games  De Kock contributions caused wins for the Proteas is very long.
He is extremely highly rated as a player throughout the world - yet  the biggest idiot ever on this site does not rate him.
