Disastrous. In effect we lost all 6 of these matches. At Home! The shortened test we won would probably also have gone to India had the weather not intervened. So many failures. Firstly in gumption. By today our guys were beaten, embarrassed....with no fighting spirit. They caved horribly with bat and ball. Secondly in terms of new talent. Markram was brilliant in the field, but unconvincing opening the innings. Ngidi strangely got some wickets, but his 135 km short balls were waiting to be hit. Phehlukwayo is toothless with the ball. Best of the bunch was Klaasen behind the stumps and the nicely correct Zondo. Thirdly there is evidence of decline among our stalwarts. AB seemed unable to kick on. Amla was only convincing when the degree of difficulty was such that he could play more cautiously. Miller was a serial failure and de Kock inept against the moving ball. None of these players enhanced their reputations. Lastly there still seems no brains behind the endeavour....coaching or captaincy. Taken all together it amounts to a big step back....it’s hard to be optimistic for the Worlds.

I cannot believe that Mozart can regard the following as a reasonable analysis of the performance of Amla:- "Amla was only convincing when the degree of difficulty was such that he could play more cautiously," In ODI's a reasonable and competitive run rate is an essential requirement and there is no space for playing "more cautiously" disregarding the principle attached to run rates totally. There are in fact clear evidence that - * Despite the "more cautious" approach Amla made less rubs in four ODI's than De Kock made less runs than De Kock made in 2; and * He made a good batting effort in just one ODI where the required run rate was 5.8 per over and for the majority of the innings he was batting below a run rate of less than 4 rpo. * the above deficiency put serious pressure on his batting partners to up their own run rate and they hit out against balls they should not play that way. That in the main was the problem Markranm had to contend with, So a serious attack on Markram nd an excuse for Amla is all that comes out of the above. Both De Villiers and De Kock had form problems and there is no argument about that. The conclusion that De Kock has problems in facing swinging balls is utter biased BS. He faced such balls for three years and never had a problem in that regard -do why should it suddenly happen now? He plainly was out of form 0 bit De Kick had a history of huge scores in ODI's and he will recover his form soon - so what you wrote is tripe. Duminy was useless in the five ODI's he played in and Miller was very average bar in one ODI. The deplorable run rate early in the innings caused serious problms for him as well. Y think there are serious problems and I think the solution is looking at obhwective looking at a renewal programme. Of the top ad middle order batsman it ios clear that in ODI's the following should be dropped asap:- Amla and Duminy They should look at Erwee and De Kock as openers - even though both are left-handers. The next batsman should be Markram, followed by Du Plessis, De Villiers and Miller/Zondo/Klaasen - the latter two being faced in if Miller keeps on failing.

So de Kock will regain form. Tokkie that right there is picking based on reputation not form......another case of do as I say, not as I do. What a fraud you are!

If De Kock does not recover form he should be OUT, But he will recover form and will be in the team in future. There is a slight problem here - as players Amla and Duminy is on the slide and their ages count against a future recovery, be it a it may - I do not trust prejudiced statements made by you especially.
