is he just going through a long time form slump or is he past it? This bloke is proving to be a serious underperformer at a time when the team needs him to add his bit, he cannot be relied upon to stay at the crease and make a fight of it when the going gets tough.

So much sport I haven't got to the cricket except to look at the results.....de Kock, Amla and Markram scored almost nothing in the series. Disappointing because Hashim was playing decently in England last I looked. De Kock has horrible technique but a world class eye, that works as long as the ball isn't moving too much. My guess is he'll be back in RSA and possibly Oz....but will always be erratic.

If you're talking movement off the pitch like in swing bowling then I can assure you there was none. The Sri Lankans fronted with three spinners and hardly used their solitary fast bowler. To me it seemed like most of our batters had no appetite to play a gritty innings on a sand strip.

Hats off to Theunis De Bruin who scored a maiden test century and showed true grit.

Amla's form is a worry, Markram I'll forgive because of inexperience, Elgar has limited batting skills and then there's Bavuma who does a plug but fails to hug. De Kock needs a pitch with even bounce....he also needs a kick up the ass.

The Proteas decided on three quicks.....one has to why?

Amla should retire in England. He has just about enough bat speed left for a season or two there.

Quintie's spot is in serious jeopardy atm. There's a big hitter with BMT waiting in the wings.
