They were useless - the only two who made runs were Parsons (40) and Coetzee (38).  No talent at all this year,

Only Bird and Coetzee are worth anything in this side Bird got bowled by a peach of a ball but by all accounts he is the real deal

Honestly the worst U19 side I have seen us produce. They were smashed by India in a home series. Lost to sim, Sri Lanka and NZ in warm ups at home. Honestly they are terrible. Agree that Bird looks good and Coetzee is special. The rest are embarrassing.

This is a direct result of  the  quota system applied as to school cricket,  School cricket teams must have four or less whites in cricket teams and provincial school teams have the same requirement.   In individual school teams it is not achieved but in provincial teams it is a strictly applied requirement.

So the result is that White children see no future for them in playing cricket and the standard of cricket has dropped drastically in schools and in provincial competitions on school level,  Cricket in SA under present conditions is dying as a sport and will not recover without getting rid of the quota system and encouragement of the game for all peo ple to become involved in.   .
