Here's a thread I've created specifically for all the posters who suddenly want to talk about the dogs they've owned.

I'll kick it off . . . I have a dog called Morphy. He's an aged old cross-breed, not very attractive, not very intelligent and all he does all day is fart and beg for attention. He's very old and the worrying thing is that the older he gets, the more he tries to hump all the puppies.

My first Great Dane was a black female. I named her ... IQ.

She was as girlie as they come. Taking her for walks would always result in mandatory stops so she could sniff the flowers on the way to the park.

One of her favourite games was to slip her head behind the curtain and play hide go seek with me.

Only problem is that the rest of her huge body was totally exposed and I suppose a waging tail didn't help the cause much either.

Needless to say, I played along ... we had a lot of fun.

She passed at the ripe old age of 13.

DOS was an early operating system for x86 based IBM PCs. It stands for Disk Operating System.
I live to give.

Who's whining, chump? I've got no problem having lots of different secretaries pointing our my typos.
Also, learn the difference between a typo and ignorance. What keys were you aiming for when you typed "very ever"? Hmmm Moffie?

Well at least it's a straight answer (for once) even if it proves that you're too stupid to string a coherent sentence together. I repeat the question I asked before your Servile Gimps chipped in . . . what does that even mean?

  1. 1973- Blikies- Rough Collie male and Nikki Fox terrier male...bit a bad combo, but great dogs.
  2. 1980- Rudu-Rough Collie male...died 93. Old for them. Best dog ever.
  3.  1994- Flint- Rough Collie male....fantastic dog..clever and a super athlete...poisoned in Simondiom Paarl to steal a few empty bottles and scrap metal from the back yard in 1999.
  4. 2005- Luke- Australian Shepherd...great dog, but got cancer at the young age of 8...sad day.
  5. 2006. Aggie- Husky/Border Collie bitch....the reason for my 8 foot walls still didn't keep her in.
  6. 2016 Chewbacca.  Bouvier male. Clumsy but a big softy...won't mess with him though. Strongest of the lot. Great family dog.

My first dog was Bubbles, a fox terrier &  true city-dog, who'd cross the main road , stop in the middle until 'twas safe to continue ........ until some ombeskof drol of a driver crossed the white line. G-bye Bubbles. In hindsight his demise was inevitable but he did successfully negotiate that main road for yonks.

So Blob ... it never occurred to you that a dog left to roam the busy streets of a city would be killed on those very streets?

Uh-duh!!!

A pet best suited to you is a toss up between a goldfish and a pet rock. I would go with the rock if I were you.

Mozart ... most dogs that chase their tails or scrape their bums on the ground have worms.

There noses are to the ground all the time and that's how they pick them up. There are some nasty bastards out there that can do irreversible damage to your woof.

You really should look after your dog a little better, Mozart.

Draad ... funny how we all tend to favour a specific breed ... and how each breed is regarded by it's owner as the best breed ever.

Bottom line ... all dogs are awesome creatures.

A friend of mine has three black boerboels. Probably the scariest hounds I've ever come across.

That is till you get to know them. Amazing creatures.

Indeed. I love animals in general, but I'm not a cat person. Dog is part of the family. Can't imagine a house without one. Way back when I lived in a flat during my bacholar days, I couldn't keep a dog, so I got a parrot...very interesting animals too.

Nice haircut, Draad.

They usually have that hippie hanging hair in the face kind of style going for them.

He looks amazing. I can see you care for this woof.

That easily qualifies you for 10 noddy points, Draad ... well in my books anyway.

Can't say I know much about birds.

A lady at work has an African Grey. She talks about him all the time. He's something like 20 years old already ... and going strong.

A chatterbox second to none I'm told.

I've always wanted an aquarium of sorts. Something that covers a wall ... with a few large fish swimming about. Never got round to it.

I saw a white fish with a single black spot on each of it's sides ... the fish is about the size of both my hands put together ... stunning.

Imagine three or four of those in a beautifully lit up tank at night.

Supposed to be great for stress release.

The hippy look gets out of hand too easily and if it does in winter, you can't cut it all off. Then you are stuck with a Rasta mop for a few months. He is due for a light cut in a few weeks. Tried to do it myself a few times, no use. Now I rather leave it up to the pro's.

Had a variety of dogs growing up, but only relatively recently got dogs of of my own as an adult. I now have two dogs, a Golden Labrador male, massive for a Labrador at 51kg's. Total legend! The other is a Lab crossed with a Weimaraner. A strange mix, but she turned out to be the most stunning dog. She looks exactly like a Weimaraner with bright yellow eyes, but she is pitch black like a Labrador. She is a little wild at heart and is a born hunter. Catches birds almost daily, which is quite an achievement for a dog that big. My neighbour, who has racing pigeons, would probably not be so happy if he knew that she had already caught and eaten at least two of his birds. On both occasions all that remained of them was a pile of feathers and two feet with identity rings on them. I guess if the two birds were lazy enough to be resting in my garden, they probably wouldn't be missed. My dogs certainly aren't guard dogs Way too friendly. But we had a break in a couple of years back, and I think their friendliness probably saved their lives, because in that period of break ins in the area, they were poisoning any dogs they saw as a danger.
