Well the maintenance factor has come to roost in those docks. Only down to 19% working capacity due to bumble maintenance.

Was down there couple of weeks ago... First out in Ballito then the Bluff and all I saw were ships... many container ships. Apparently 63 waitin g now.

It is not only the situation in Durabn harbour that is the problem.   War problems involving Iasrael hadx always ibn the past led to the Cape rute becomes the safe option.   I can remember the 1973 situation when at one stage therfe wer 170 ships lying in the see ofc D urban.   I am not surprized  by the situation prevailing at present. at all.   In 1973 ships in only rare occassons were docked n D urban - that was wen they hadx to deliver imports into SA - but other ships wer provisioned by boats.

If the Gaza problem is not solved soon the problem using the cape route will intensify.   AI hard abou 8 years ago that  the Durban Harbor operations are managed by a Chinese comany - may be wrong on that one though. ..  .

Road deliveries suspended to Richard's Bay terminal as 200 trucks wait to offload, some waiting for a week. I do see plenty of coal trucks.... obviously top grade coal... for overseas dollars whilst the stones are fed in to damage local boilers.
