When looking at the Government in SA while the stupidity increases by the day that is what we normally expected,  We have learned to live with the idiocy so we are not surprised that they constantly do things that is contra to the constitution.

With great fanfare the Government announced the lockdown at the end of March and the set of regulations written by idiots are gazetted.   A lot of things are in the regulations that is nonsense,   That was followed by reducing the strictness of the regulation by a wee bit at the end of April.   And than followed a further modification of the regulations at the end of May,  You still find silliness like ships may sell shoes - but not sandals and women shoes with the front end open.

So to be expected the Government is taken to court on the basis that the regulations are unconstitutional.   Since the Government headquarters is in fact in Pretoria the matter served before the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.   The Government must hate that court with a vengeance - I cannot remember the Court ruling once in favour of the Government in controversial cases involving Zuma.

So what happened today?   The Court ruled that in its present format the regulations are in many ways unconstitutional so all regulations promulgated are thrown out as illegal,   The ruling is suspended for two weeks to give the Government a chance to try and bring the regulations in line with the Constitution. What is the chances of that happening is very dicey,  The fact is that they would need a top legal expert to evaluate the regulations to see what is complying with the constitution and what not.

The chances are the Government may try to appeal the ruling - but will it work?  The Chief Justice - Head of the Constitutional Court - has already in the media mentioned that he is worried about the regulations being unconstitutional and that message will go the Appeals Court and the chances are they will get nowhere with an appeal either,

Maaik, this whole thing is being used as a cover for looting the already depleted publicfunds...they'll get their ugly paws on the state pension fund at long last...the last bit left to loot.

That is really going to cause havoc and riots - the public servants know by now that the bankrupting of the funds by the Government would lead to starving of the pensioners like  happened in Zimbabwe,    The Courts are not going to allow the Government to loot the funds and that will end up in the Constitutional Court,

I am afraid the Government will get nowhere with that.   The pension funds are funded by the State workers - not the Government - so effectively the Government would steal money that does not belong to them at all.
