Good lord your such an odious little cretin. Once again the science doesn't support your political views so you have to throw mud at the scientific process.
"Remember when the world’s shortest high school basket ball player
marched out and told us Remdesivir is the crucial breakthrough in
Covid. He was positively pumped that he could tank the HCQ supporters
and have a photo op with Remdesivir. Take that you Frog infectious
disease fake.....take that Trump, you should have kissed the ring you
obese wasp!"
So let me see, you start off by insulting his height, as if height has anything to do with medical competence. Then you use the words marched out to negatively frame his interview, do all interviewee's march out?, does Donald Trump march out every time he gives an interview, or is it just interviewee's that you don't like? Then you use the words crucial breakthrough, something Fauci didn't actually say. Fauci came out and said the initial studies indicated modest positive results, indicating this was the beginning of a process to develop more and more effective drugs to treat Covid, he used terms like "important first step" or "important proof of concept", he specifically said remdesivir is not a knock out drug, or a miracle drug. He also said that data needed to be analyzed further and peer reviewed. Then you imply he was pumped up to tank HCQ supports but he never actually brought up HCQ, He showed no indication of gloating, or triumphalism. Without a shred of evidence you smear and denigrate him just because you have taken a dislike to this man for being you know actually professional and not looking like a a colossal moron in front of the world unlike the man you have consistently praised for his handling of the pandemic. You don't want him to be right because that will make your side of the argument look bad, and you rather him not be successful so Trump and yourself don't look bad even if that means it cost people their lives.
"But hold on the WHO has apparently just completed a study across 12
countries with 5000 hospitalized patients... after 28 days 11% of those
taking Remdesivir died and 11.2% of those receiving standard care died.
Statistically no difference and there was no difference in hospital
stays either."
So now your happy to use WHO data when you think it supports you argument?
"This is a caution for those who jumped on the earlier R study after it
was changed from a 6 or so variable test....and was reduced to a length
of stay only test. And the 14 to 11 day supposed result became the
basis for all the Remdesivir hype.
But changing protocols in mid stream should have been a warning sign,
Blithely ignored by the arrogant Fauci whose advice led to billions
being spent to buy Remdesivir supplies."
Who jumped on it?. The data avialable at the time indicated there was benefits to using Remdesivir to treat Covid. As Fauci explained at the time, there was a risk to placing the orders for stock of Remdesivir, it wasn't conclusive proven to be effective but it was better to have the stock on hand and it turn out not to be effective then to not have the stock and it was later confirmed to be effective. If he hadn't ordered the supplies and further studies backed up the initial studies you would be on here criticizing him for not acting sooner.
As for the claims the study was changed, it may or may not have been and if it was the changed those changes may or may not have been significant, but you can not be trusted to offer a subjective view on studies, you already have been proven to be completely biased and selective in what evidence you present to support your arguments. (i.e. citing studies that you claim disprove global warming or some of the models supporting global warming with out having read them, where neither the studies or the studies authors support your conclusions)
"Always wrong, never uncertain has been his Covid MO. And to think some posters on here actually admire this man. "
Has he even been asked about the WHO finding yet. There only a few days ago and as Fauci has said he has been muzzled by what can say by the White House.
I'm sure Fauci has made mistakes in his career and possibly during the pandemic, after all no one is perfect, but he's said or done nothing that would indicate he is anything other than a dedicated and skilled professional trying to handle a difficult situation hampered by a political administration that other countries do not have to deal with it. He is 100 times a better man than Trump or you will ever be.
