Zelensky should just have signed the deal. Asking for security was not something that was offered.

I don't like Trump, but I thought this was a good move he made. The conflict is in a stalemate. Change is needed, anything. This could create an opportunity for Putin to use a pretext motive for ending the war.

America could have signed a deal with Russia to do mining in Russia, and it would have made Putin look good.

Putin regrets invading Ukraine, but he can't find a way out of the hole he has dug himself into. Putin has to find a way to save face to Russians. That is the situation we are in. Putin is not going to attack any area with Americans in it, had the deal been signed. That would make many territories off limits to Russians, which eliminates the possibility of Russia just continuing the war until all of Ukraine falls.

If Russia had signed a big mining deal with America, they could say that they agreed with the US to end the war in Ukraine and not take any more territory.

Putin has another 10 years at most in office. When he is no longer on the planet, new deals can be made.

It is clear that Zelenskyy is demaniding a deal that would serve only his ow interets and not the interests of Ukraine. H has no constitution goerning Ukraine - he wants other troopsin Ukraine - which would boost his sagging support in the next Presidential election in Ukraine and for the rest he is helped along by the Germans.

He is not going to get monetary support from the USA in future and that is where the situation is a present, Fact is Ukrain des not ahve the money to cover its administration costs - not only war costs from the USA and the extra support is in "structural support" - which inckludes kick-backs to USA Politicians and those running Ukaine.

In Ukraine he Government do not collect taxes from the Ukrainians and whatsoever they get Zelenskyy dies not know what "structural support" money is used for. That enabled him to cover pension pa yments to Ukaine elderly and sme medical help - but most hospital patients claimed they ahve top pay bibes to get access for meidical treatment.

The "structural support also means he US Government is paying the Ukraine soldiers and without that money the payments by the USA will not happen. and Ukraine will not survive for long,

So he can go and ask the Germans to pay the administrative costs of his Government and see how far he is going to get with their support not amounting to 20% of what he gets fom the USA at present.

By the way the Germans meddled in the eelctions in omania and got the main opposing candidate of being an ulktra-rightwing supporter. They scrapped he election and tried to lay criminal charges laid against him n an effort to prevent him taking being candidate, that is what led to Vance.'s speech in Munmch, The Democrats tried to use he same stunt in the USA than the Germans are trying to use in Romania and that the USA Government does not believe is the way for Democracy to go,

Anyway in Germany a Goenment consisting of the Greens - the main suppoters of the War in Ukraine in Germany - is no tgoing to work out. The Bavarain wing of the CSU is against the Greens being nvolved in any German Government and they will oppose Merz and that will be he end of Merz in the Governing Coalition. Merz wil not last a year as German Chancellor - he will be kicked out as leader of he CDU and replaced by another leader - which will end up as being the end of him as Chancellor,

The US will probably leave NATO. The new German chancellor is already talking about creating a replacement for NATO.

Trump wishes to dismantle the EU, so it is not a good point to build relations off.

Nonsense...the EU is insensitive to American interests...Trump is only balancing the scale again...if the EU wants US support, they better start treating the USA as an equal parntner and not a sugar daddy.

Th ere is no way diplomatic disacussions took place in fromt of the media and Selenskyy wa ruud to nt follow normal processes in that regard and tried to get Trump lookin g hard a gainst Ulraine and suckin g up to Russia in frnt of the emdia.

No way he woud easily get to the W H a gain an d Starmer apparently spoke to Trump to try and keep a good relationship with the USA.

I listened to Stamers speech ipat last night when he was bellicose - but apparently th ey informed Trump of what the ahve in mind and wants peace talks with Russia to continue They apaprently also want Zelenskyy to sign the Rare Mineral Treaty and said that would also happen.
