Trump wins with 72.6 million votes and beats Harrassmiss by 4.7 million votes. The total number of early votes is 82 million, with Republicans casting 6 million more…..44 million early Republican votes….Dems cast 38 million early votes

In 2020 67% of Trump voters voted on Election Day and only 25% of democrats.  In total Biden got 81 million votes and Trump 74 million votes….so the Dem early vote was 61 million and the Republican early vote was 17 million.

Not all the votes are formally counted yet…but using the numbers as they stand, the short bias affects both parties……the Republicans increased their early vote from 17 million to 44 million. The Dems dropped their early vote from 61 million to 38 million.

And we know not everybody who intends to vote on the day, does so. People get sick, kids have crises , car pools go awry, it’s raining…queues are too long. Let’s suppose 5% of people who intended to vote on Election Day…don’t.

Then by getting 27 more million votes early….the Republicans picked up 1.35 million votes, the 5% of those who wouldn’t have voted on Election Day.

The Dems by contrast lost  23 million early votes and assuming 5% loss factor that amounts to 1.15 million votes.

So the change in tactics was worth almost 2.5 million  net votes to the Republicans. Assume a 10% loss factor and you have 5 million votes….more than the current popular vote count differential of 4.7 million votes. It’s an interesting parameter which I haven’t actually seen well researched but was probably the biggest single thing that turned the tide.

And turning to ChatGTP we find this interesting answer:

Research shows that, on average, about 5-10% of people who say they plan to vote on Election Day ultimately do not make it to the polls. Reasons for this can include unexpected life events, long wait times, logistical issues, or even changes in motivation. The percentage can vary based on the year, type of election, and region.

Why the steep decline in early votes for the Dems...doesn't really make sense now does it?

The 2020 thing was driven by Covid….the Dems played the ‘it’s safer voting by mail card’. Lost focus on it this year.,,big mistake.

I'm not convinced...those were big numbers and the blue machine's ground game is top notch...they got away with more than they should have because of covid.

The order of counting this year appears to be different. The mail-in ballots in 2020 were counted last, but this time the mail-in ballots appear to have been counted earlier (probably because of the appearance in 2020).

In 2024, the ratio of mail ballots by party was much closer - so even if these votes were counted last - it would not have made such significance as the late votes in 2020 (Which were like 85% Democrat).

"The Dems dropped their early vote from 61 million to 38 million."

How do you explain this Snark? The Republicans improved their numbers significantly and somehow the Dems manage to drop their numbers for mail votes by 20 odd million...but the rest of all the stats are roughly the same...dit staan uit soos 'n seer vinger...fishy AF.

Perplexity opines:

The claim that there were 20 million fewer voters in the 2024 US election compared to 2020, while also being the largest turnout in 2024, is not accurate based on the available information. Let's break down the facts:

Voter Turnout

The voter turnout for the 2024 US presidential election was high, but slightly lower than in 2020:

  • 2024 turnout: Projected to be around 65% of eligible voters, with approximately 158 million ballots counted157.

  • 2020 turnout: Approximately 67% of eligible voters, which was a historic high57.

Vote Counts

While the final vote counts are still being tallied, the current numbers do not support a 20 million vote gap:

  • 2024: Donald Trump has secured over 72.6 million votes (50.8% of the popular vote), while Kamala Harris has received about 67.8 million votes (47.5%)7.

  • 2020: Joe Biden received about 81 million votes, while Donald Trump received about 74 million votes6.

The gap between Harris's 2024 vote count and Biden's 2020 count is currently around 14 million, not 20 million, and this gap is expected to narrow as more votes are counted6.

Comparison to 2020

While the 2024 election saw high turnout, it did not surpass 2020:

  • The 2024 turnout is projected to be slightly lower than 2020, with about a 2 percentage point decrease (65% vs 67%)57.

  • The total number of votes cast in 2024 (around 158 million) is also lower than in 2020, which saw about 155 million votes15.

Factors Affecting Turnout

Several factors may have contributed to the slight dip in turnout:

  • Changes in voting demographics, with shifts in support among various racial and age groups8.

  • Differences in enthusiasm or motivation among voters for the 2024 candidates compared to 2020.

  • Potential impacts of new voting laws or regulations in some states.

In conclusion, while the 2024 US presidential election did see high voter turnout, it did not exceed the record-breaking turnout of 2020. The claim of 20 million fewer voters is not supported by the current data, and the election was not the largest turnout in history. It's important to wait for final certified results for the most accurate comparison.

Is Trump the first American President to be re-elected? If so then it’s quite something. I did say that I think we need younger Presidents in the world, but Trump surprised me in a positive way. I watched his interview with Jo Rogan and with Theo Von, and I must say he is actually a nice guy. Besides his last stint wasn’t to bad as economically things were running better.

Well I would suggest that after the 2020 election Republicans had all bases covered to ensure that all mail in votes only got counted once plus the vote count is significantly down from 2000 as some of the folks born in the late 1800's just lost interest or was it due to the Republican monitoring at polling stations.

Amazing that the voter count in 2020 was so high.....often wondered why'

Obviously it must have been the DEAD voters who have been removed for the voters list.

FOUR MORE YEARS.

82 percent of the vote has been counted in Arizona.

Trump is leading by 6.4% and obviously will have a big win in Arizona.

But explain to me why this State will probably not finish counting till Sunday or beyond.

Also explain why the exceptional Kari Lake is still just over 30,000 votes being her Demorat opponent.

Everyone knows this is impossible.

I fear also the Nevada and Wisconsin Senate Races were compromised.

There is going to be a huge outcry if Lake loses.
