Nothing new. Russia has nazis. Nazis serve in the military. It seems that worldwide, military personal have a thing for nazism. In Russia, one nazi military guy is a regular guest for TV shows.
It compares to nothing with liberal countries. Russian nazis are confined to the area of personal beliefs and are kept in check by a very large social and public disproval.
Liberal countries, on the other hand, have a long history of backing nazis, dismissing their influence, providing them with shelter when in need, picking them up as the least of evil anytime.
Nazism is the closest thing to liberalism. In fact, liberalism succeeded in many things Nazis would have liked to succeed: genocides, ethnocides, land grabbing, dehumanization, slavery etc
It obviously does not compare with Ukraine that adopted a national identity based on nazi ideology.
It does not compare with all those countries that opposed the UN resolution to ban glorification of nazism.
It does not compare to the US where nazis keep fighting their race wars behind bars (nazis account for 2 pc of the inmate population, 20 pc of all murders committed in jail)
It does not compare to the US where nazis have joined the Police and use the colour of authority to press their agenda.
It does not compare to all liberal countries that are now engaged in dressing far right wing policies by rebranding them center right, center left policies.
Pointless to deny the existence of Nazis in Russia. They do exist, they influence little to nothing.
On the other hand, in liberal land, the clarification of the relationship to nazism has yet to come, things are kept blurred as possible. And in liberal land, denial is not the name of a river only.
