You claimed that Russia wants to occupy Ukraine , while in fact the Russian interest is confined to majority Russian speaking areas in Ukraine  and that is where the situation in the War is at present.      Russia will not go beyond those areas  and when it comes to the Crimea the situation is that the Crimea Parliament voted to become part of Russia and that was followed by a referendum.- in that referendum the real linguistic lines were drawn -   85% of the people of the Crimea are   Russian-speaking - 10% are Tartars - ie remains of the time from the rule of the Khans of the Crimea and what is left of the survivors after Stalin sent the whole Tartar population to Siberia (circa 3,5 million people of which only 200 000 survived t he ordeal) and 5% Ukrainian speakers.   Crimea would never leave Russia again.  

The fact is that the Russians will contain their invasion to areas with majority Russians population and not occupy and incorporate Ukraine into a new  Soviet Union.   

The West refuse to give any protection to Russian speakers in Ukraine and .is prepared to see them die in large numbers through what technically is a genocide.

 Russians are a different breed of people - they are proud of the history and culture of the Russians - irrespective of whether the Tzars or the Communists were the rulers,   They have a strong believe in value systems and unlike the woke culture destroying western civilization - they believe in cultural and religion development.   You may not like the latter part - but that is factual.

It is not clear what DumbMike is saying is a fact.
Religion is a fact or Russians are religious is a fact?

Somehow Russia are the good guys because they are a religious country.

Russia is a poor country. It is corrupted by Oligarchs and Putin. Their GDP per capita is low compared to Democratic countries. 

This has bugger-all to do with religion and he fact is that if people according to you are religious their rights should be oppressed.   The Russians turned to religion when the Communist tried to destroy any opposition to them under Stalin and Lenin.   

But the issue here has  very little to do with religion and everything to do with  history and culture,    That is being destroyed in the USA, the EU countries and the UK - the first sign of collapse in morals and destruction of civilization.
