Donnie should win in a landslide. Going by what's been bandied around on this site alone Harris is out of her depth, a lightweight, a word salad and an ex pro. Don't tell me........don't tell me we're in for another round of election fraud?
Vice President Kamala Harris has become the favorite to win November's presidential election for the first time, according to a number of leading betting companies.
U.K.-based bookmaker Betfair are currently offering odds of 20/21 (51.2 percent) on a Harris victory against 6/5 (45.5 percent) for Republican candidate and former President Donald Trump.
This marks a dramatic switch from just one day earlier when the company had odds of 53 percent on a Trump victory versus 47 percent for Harris.
Speaking to Newsweek, Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said: "Since Kamala Harris injected momentum back in the race for president following Biden's exit, she has organized Democrats across the country and continued to be backed on the Betfair Exchange.
"The past three weeks have shown her defying expectations again and again, with punters gaining more confidence that she can credibly challenge Trump in November.
"Then this morning Harris overtook Trump to become the Betfair favorite for the first time...Will she maintain her momentum with the punters? Time will tell."
Bookmaker Paddy Power has odds of 5/6 (54.5 percent) on Harris winning against 1/1 (50 percent) for Trump. William Hill, another prominent betting company, has Harris and Trump tied at 10/11 (52.4 percent) each.
Newsweek contacted representatives of Vice President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump's 2024 presidential election campaign on Thursday for comment by email outside of regular office hours.
Harris became the Democratic Party's presumptive 2024 presidential nominee on July 21, shortly after President Joe Biden announced he was dropping out of the race and offering her his endorsement.
Over the following weeks, she has polled ahead of Trump in more than a dozen polls, though these measure the popular vote which Harris could win and still lose overall due to the Electoral College system as then Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton did in 2016 and former Vice President Al Gore did in 2000.
Speaking to Newsweek earlier this week, William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps said the company was expecting Harris to become the company's favorite to win in November, with Trump's score kept artificially high by the amount of money gamblers had already placed on him.
He said: "Trump was favorite to win the GOP nomination for the last four years and has been backed heavily and steadily across Joe Biden's term in office. This only increased in the last 12 months when it became clear that Biden would not be able to beat Trump for a second time.
"In contrast, Kamala Harris has only become a serious contender in the race to the White House in the last six months. The money placed on Harris pales in comparison to Trump.
"All data points toward Harris—currently priced at EVS [evens]—going favorite at some point before November, but the liability we have for Trump acts like an anchor on his price."
On Tuesday, Harris announced Democratic Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her 2024 presidential running mate. That evening, they held a campaign rally in Philadelphia in the key swing state of Pennsylvania.
