Stav, by all means, if the Church as an institution is actively working with Russia against them...ban them...but it's a bit more complicated than that....and there is a difference between an institution colluding with the enemy and some of it's members doing it...that was my point.
So here we go again
Stav, by all means, if the Church as an institution is actively working with Russia against them...ban them...but it's a bit more complicated than that....and there is a difference between an institution colluding with the enemy and some of it's members doing it...that was my point.
And you know for a fact that UOC as an institution wasn't colluding and that it was just a few members?
I can't say I'm too shocked that Trump's golfing buddy with no experience in foreign policy has turned out to be utterly incompetent.
He is a real estate wheeler dealer, said it a while back that he's hopelessly inadequate for the role. Just another Trump flub....shame.
You can't ban a whole church because some of the members are colluding with the enemy. Ukraine has issues aside from the stupid war.
Why not?. Why should a church get an exemption over any other type of organisation from being banned?
………
So by that logic one has to assume you would ban the Moslem religion. That’s a bit hard to square with your immigration views though.

Are a Muslim sect in Ukraine accused of actively collaborating with an invading force during a time of war?
No but you were making a general point about religions. So let me ask you directly…..would you ban the church in Ukraine but not ban the Moslem religion if they did the same thing? Perhaps you should take an anti spasmodic before tackling this Stav, we’d hate to lose you.
So its ok to have a Russian church in Ukraine that proclaims ... 'Russians killed during the SMO will be sanctified with direct entry thru the pearly gates of heaven ??
Ukrainians will not give their land to occupiers,” Zelenskyy said over the weekend, adding that handing over land to Russia would violate the Ukrainian constitution. He said any deal done without Ukraine was destined to be “stillborn”.
So let me ask you directly…..would you ban the church in Ukraine but not ban the Moslem religion if they did the same thing?
I'd ban any organisation that was actively collaborating with the enemy during a time of war, be it a religion of any kind, a company, a lobby group or any other type of group.
Under normal circumstances obviously you can spend the time investigating whether it's just a few people or the organisation as a whole but in a war you don't have that luxury and given the links the UOC has to Russia, I'm inclined to give Ukraine the benefit of the doubt. Draad always seems to assume the worst about Ukraine.
Draad always seems to assume the worst about Ukraine.
Yep, & it normally starts with Zelensky's height or more precisely, his lack thereof.
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said NATO membership for Ukraine was unrealistic and in sweeping remarks suggested that the way forward for Ukraine was for the country to abandon hopes of a return to its pre-2014 borders and prepare for a negotiated settlement with Russia .... (old news but relevant)
Trump mumbles about 'swapping territories'.
Fast forward to Zelenskyy rejecting 'their' proposals ... Putin/Trump condemning an unaccommodating Zelenskyy ... &, the blitzkriegest SMO in world history continues unabated, sadly without the aggressor suffering from any meaningful sanctions.
6-0 6-0 6-0.. Putin once again beats a POTUS ..
Hope I'm wrong & the outcome's different.
The 2 Vlads are both short and arrogant...the Ukrainian one less of a dick...you can’t ban religion, you can make some of their practices illegal...Ukraine had lots of problems before the invasion...if their corruption were worse than South Africa, things were pretty bad.
Corruption in Ukraine is a significant issue that affects society[1][2] going back to the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.[3] After declaring independence from the Soviet Union, Ukraine faced a series of politicians from different sides of the political spectrum, as well as criminal bosses and oligarchs, who used the corruption of police, political parties, and industry to gain power.[4] Ukraine is still considered one of the more corrupt countries in Europe, but has made steady progress at improvement since 2015.[5][6 WIKI.
What is the level of corruption in Ukraine?
Transparency International's 2024 Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), which scored 180 countries on a scale from 0 ("highly corrupt") to 100 ("very clean"), gave Ukraine a score of 35.
you can’t ban religion, you can make some of their practices illegal...Ukraine had lots of problems before the invasion...if their corruption were worse than South Africa, things were pretty bad.
He didn't ban religion, he banned one branch of an Eastern Orthodox religion that was accused of collaborating with the enemy in a time of war. Wasn't just Zelensky on his own either, the Ukrainian parliament also voted overwhelming to ban the UOC.
What Ukraine's pre-war problems got to do with the present situation. Are you suggesting it was corruption that led to the UOC banning?
No one who presently backs Ukraine claims it was a utopia before the war, corruption was indeed rife but they appear to have taken genuine steps in trying to combat throughout the course of the war. I also don't see how allowing Ukraine to be taken over either in part or totally by Russia a country that's even worse for corruption is going help the situation.
...Apparently the church wasn't banned, just forced to separate from the ROC...which is totally acceptable...so misinformation on my part. My apologies.
I dislike Zelensky and it has nothing to do with the fact that he is Ukrainian or that he is short...I don’t like Putin because he is the Russian president and gatgabba of Cyril, Julius end co...my swarn enemies...filth...the fact that he invaded Ukraine is just confirmation that he is indeed an arse of note.

Fair enough
I dislike Zelensky and it has nothing to do with the fact that he is Ukrainian or that he is short
Sort of seems you dislike him for no reason other than MAGA dislikes him.
India will conform or else...slow poison...
Liberals look for submission and one of their main strategy is to make outrageous claims that tells of submission when people accept them.
From the article: "Russia accounts 10% of global crude supply, if all the countries stopped buying from Russia. So crude price may increase by 10% if no other countries increase their production,"
Sure... It takes to believe in it though to give credit to the rest of the article.
"Sort of seems you dislike him for no reason other than MAGA dislikes him."
I've disliked him since I saw him in combat pants and army T-shirt... long before MAGA had an opinion about him...he's never even been close to a soldier...typical pretentious politician POS....fight fight fight while hiding behind Western skirts...fck him.

Lefty math...epic fail...hard being stupid and not knowing that you're stupid...eina!
Lefty, righty, all of them are liberal.
Maybe the complaint should be addressed to the article... Or not considering who posted it as a reference.
But hey, liberals do as they are.
