And the gap skews more in favou r of apartheid every year.
Am I wrong?
The main reason I moved out of South Africa was to provide a future for my family with safety and security in a stable country.
Many folks who we had been friends with since school days turned their backs on us when we announced our departure but eventually when the situation became difficult for them in RSA they quickly reversed their earlier action and could not stop calling us for assistance and advise on making a similar move.
Many did and have made a new life you themselves and their offspring thankfully.
Unfortunately not all had the means to make the move but continue to this day in helping their children get out.
I had no family other than my wife's side of the family to concern about so it was easier for me than it was for my wife to leave.
But we did promise to assist in sponsoring them once we settled in.
We did later get my in-laws out and have also sponsored two of my wifes sisters with a brother still resident in JHB.
Now even 35 years later I still reminise about the old country and shudder at the thought of my families security and safety if we had remained in RSA.
But to those who remain I hope and pray that you will be rewarded with a change in the country that leads to a stable and lawfull life for ALL its people.
Check this out...obviously the same puppet masters as during Apartheid...
"The net benefit of apartheid to all Safricans is higher than what the ANC has achieved in 30 years."
That's unfortunately true...the Apartheid and Colonial governments, warts and all, has done more for black people than anything the ANC has done wrt the following:
Housing
Schools
Hospitals
Public Transport
Water and sanitation
electricity
These things weren't exclusive to whites, the quality was poorer than for whites...which is shameful, but it was better than the crap the ANC is dishing up...such a shame, cause this is a great country.
"The net benefit of apartheid to all Safricans is higher than what the ANC has achieved in 30 years"
Spot on ....and even the Black population now readily and openly admit this..... which is also why it is so stupid and ridiculous to make a comment that the current criminality running rampant in South Africa is directly because of Apartheid.... you have to be incredibly stupid and naive to make a comment like that, especially if you don't even reside in the country that you are referring to and experience what it is like living here, every day.
We live and experience this shit every day..... we are not someone who just pops over for a luxury holiday once every few years, to enjoy our fantastic country.... and then thinks that they know about what is going on here....because they don't.... not even close.
"These things weren't exclusive to whites, the quality was poorer than for whites...which is shameful, but it was better than the crap the ANC is dishing up...such a shame, cause this is a great country."
Correct
Us lot .... you know...... the typical arrogant white South African..... were not all bad
Just as has happened with this thread..... it is incredibly easy to point out all the negatives from apartheid...... and rightly so, because there are plenty of them.... but it is also just as easy for some people to completely overlook the many positives of then compared to what the ANC has done in the last 30 years now......but millions refuse to do so.
As I said ..... many of the "You People" that are referred to on this thread, give back in some way..... almost every single day, whilst idiots like Denny..... sitting comfortably thousands of km's away ...just continue to condemn the arrogant white South African.
I read an article about the suggestion that the Cape Province should break away from the rest of the country and go it alone.
Well I have not studied the RSA economy recently but I do recall prior to our departure in 1987 that most of the revenue collected per annum in taxes was generated within the "Witwatersrand" corridor.
Now if that is still the case plus the decline in the quality and revenue of SA wines distilled in the Cape just how will the Cape generate enough taxes to support the present population and services such as defence, pensions and welfare never mind the influx of people that will make the move south.
?????
Western Cape's economy is growing by more than 4% per anum, while the rest of the country struggle to average .5%...our average income is higher than elsewhere and our unemployment is the lowest by far...we also have a lower population density than some Gauteng and KZN and some other provinces...unfortunately, people are flocking here in their thousands...exoting the repupblic and protecting the border from migrants fromnthe old homelands will be considered the same thing as the old dompass and will never be tolerated...Capexit is an impossible pipe dream
"Capexit is an impossible pipe dream"
It would seem so, but 68% of recent respondents to a poll say they would favour it going independent.
Things are just so different in the Western Cape.... you can physically see the actual difference when you see the signs that says "Welcome to the Western Cape", if you are travelling from various outside provinces...
The roads are better
The infrastructure in better ....
Everything works.... and it works well and effi ciently and effectively.
It is cleaner .... neater....more appealing to the eye
It is safer, although it has some problems, as does anywhere in the world.
I can fully understand why Db sings the praises of Cape Town and the Western Cape, and so he should..... I just wish the rest of South Africa could do the same.
