An article by Washington Post.

If you ever read Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged novel with her extremist idealism and objective views you might find this interesting.

The novel was a best seller at some point but the movie was a failure...perhaps because she divides the world into Looters (Moochers) and Creators (Pyramid Builders).

Never saw the movie but the book was intellectually stimulating with a lot of truths in it and so was "The Fountainhead". She was way before her time. I can certainly see flaws in her philosophy as well and paradox's. She eluded the belief in God which I totally oppose in her thinking, nevertheless she did reveal a lot of secular truth. She was born in the Soviet Union and immigrated or fled and probably one extreme socialistic horror pushes ones thinking to the opposite poll.

She was very bright but wisdom teaches us that idealism is just not livable in an imperfect world.

But her basic truths are spot-on.

SA is run by Moochers and Looters without exception...even worse than what other countries experience and we are sadly doomed. In USA Trump has indeed reversed "Atlas Shrugged" and although I don't like his manners he is a good president that delivers the goods and that is what a country needs...a leader that can re-establish a sound economy and employment.

How Ayn Rand's 'elitism' lives on in the Trump administration

I did not read the book and so would not comment on the ideas in it, bu t wish to comment on one issue and that is the issue of the Washington Post  article,   That article painted a story that Public  Servants are "builders" of great ideas,

As a person that worked for government institutions  for 50 years I can tell you one thing - public servants who are "builders" are few and far between and normally are ostracized by the vast majority who are more interested in protecting their own interests than in advancing anything of substance in the world,

One of the typical examples is the security services in the USA which has been exposed as extreme examples of the protection of self-interest and of even undermining the USA constitution if they feel threatened,  Senator Schumer himself said that if any politician opposed with what they come up with he is doomed.   They would do what Beria told Stalin - "show me the man and I will find the crime",   That is an inherent part of  what they do.

The socialist idea of an Utopia where public servants make sacrifices to benefit people and are "builders" are totally deluded and utter BS,  They are indeed on the main the exact opposite to what the Washington Post writes about being ideal,
