Did not know him but he seemed very pleasant.

He had a sense of humour.

He certainly was not a Cowardunce as one poster called him...it only reflected the severity of impairment of ability to perceive or discern of that poster.

Vlag, I suspect suffered from cancer but he never cried or let on. What I also gather he served on the border as some of us. I wonder who did here. He certainly was not dumb and had a sense of humour (of the ridiculous),

This is a song of Neil Diamond that he liked (and so do I) "Be" is a Masterpiece.

RIP Vlag.

Cheers Seb, this place is poorer withou t him...it's been more than a year since his passing...he missed the RWC and his Bools winning the Currie Cup twice in one year...a record probably never to be broken...RIP Vlag.

Vlag did let on once, he had a fatal melanoma. Great guy….we had a spat on Supersupporter but became friends after that.

Vlag was a great poster, incredibly knowledgeable and as one poster correctly puts it the place is "poorer without him". We had deep ideological differences, had our spats but I'm glad to say we  had common interests as well. Our last point of difference was about a Beatle song, he was right of course and it's now just one of several things to remember him. We said our goodbye's on that note but sadly it took his illness to draw us closer together. If I look back on our relationship then it's fair to say none of us really know each other and if we did would it alter what we think of each other as well as alter the way we speak to each other in cyber space? Perhaps not, I don't really know.

Vlag was an integrous man. Knew and loved the game well and didn't participate nearly as often as I had hoped, but still a great contributor. Who could forget the PSG thread. Had a great sense of humour with a little bit of trolling for some added flavour. His passing puts a lot of these exchanges into perspective.

I miss him quite a lot - at times he was very good on rugby issues and he was an interesting man.  That was a part of him that is missed on site.

Cera was quite active here towards the end so whatever gripes and long-standing fueds we have on Ruckers, nobody would choose to be as active here if the site and it’s regulars meant zero to them. I think the same is true for most here. A famous person that died of brain cancer said, just before his death, that watching an insect scurry across the floor was enough to bring him to tears. If only we could muster a fraction of that reverence for the wonderful universe in our daily lives.
