I am afraid I have to differ from you as per normal. Trump was a registerd Democrat unil 2007 and never supported the Republicans - but he also saw that Bush and his warmongerer and started endles wars. He was only decided to enter politics in 2014..
But you obviously boycotted the speech of Vance tonight. He did speak about hs roots in the four States that ued to be wealthy and became the rust belt states over the last 40 years. He is part of a generation that grew up stuggling to make a living, He spoke about family life and what it means to him and to the working class people in the USA,
That speech tonight will make sure that the majority of people in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota encounter on a daily basis and is likely will turn those states into supporting Trump in November 2024.
I think Trump was not interested in turning the RP internal arguments (inclusive of Palin's Tea Party group) and an elitist polticians that made no difference to the working class. When after the 2016 elections people in the Rust Belt states were sked why they voted for Trump and the answer was that over the last 30 years they voted for either the Republican or Democratic Parties and all they got in that period was to get poorer and they voted for Trump in he hope that things would improve for them.
The fact was it did and for the first tiime in three decades people had money in their pockets and could attain a better life that they last enjoyed under Preident Reagan. It must have worked because when asked in an opion pole Blacks in New York stated in ecent opinion polls they answered they were better off and felt safer when Trump was President than they feel at present.
In essense Palin had no idea about the idea to get the working and middle class in supporting the RP - but was merely an ideological argument and nothing else. Trump saw an opportunity to get the support of the working and middle class voters to suppot the RP. Trump's approach was successful in 2016 it got accepted by the majority of the RP membership. It was not accepted by the erstwhile political elite that was closer to their friends in the DP - like campaignimg by Ncain did when suppoting a Demcoratic Party Senate cndidate in Wisconsin.
The DP used to be supported by the working class voters and that ended in 2016. For a variety of reasons the votes in key states believed Biden was one of hem and not a controversial a Trump. Biden also promised them that he would stop the political divisions in the USA. Biden did everyhing to the opposite and his introduiction of far-leftist idealists in his cabinet and his policies antagonised the people more and more,
The cornerstone of the Democrats also were based on a coalition type of movement and he Hispanics and Blacks are in the main religious people and the anti-religion policies of the Biden Aministration drove more and more people from the Party.
