….a Board Quiz. Give us your guess.
Which 50 year old technology, can we no longer access
You're on the B oard Plum, answer.
It’s the result of careless editing….just focus on the obvious question Plum and relax!
Interesting I hadn’t remembered that….but I guess as long as you have a player, you can still access your old cassette tapes.
Analog TVs?...been around for more than a century, so no.
TELEX-Teleprinter.
"TThere are several 50-year-old technologies that are no longer accessible today due to various reasons such as being outdated, replaced by newer technologies, or discontinued. Here are some examples:
1. Floppy disk drives: Floppy disks were introduced in the 1970s and were widely used for data storage until the early 2000s. However, due to their limited storage capacity and slow read/write speeds, they were eventually replaced by more advanced storage technologies such as USB flash drives and external hard drives.
2. Cassette tapes: Cassette tapes were popular in the 1970s and 1980s for music and data storage. However, with the advent of CDs and digital music formats, the use of cassette tapes declined rapidly, and today they are mostly used for nostalgic purposes.
3. Rotary dial telephones: Rotary dial telephones were used for over 50 years until the 1980s when push-button phones became more popular. Today, they are considered an antique and are mostly used as collectibles.
4. CRT monitors: CRT (cathode ray tube) monitors were widely used for computer displays until the early 2000s when flat-panel displays such as LCD and LED monitors became more prevalent.
5. VHS tapes: VHS tapes were popular for home video recording and playback in the 1980s and 1990s. However, with the rise of DVD and digital video formats, VHS tapes have become obsolete, and many people no longer have the means to play them."
Ghat Gpt can't think of anything else either...should probably have asked for the long answer.
Floppy disks was my second guess.
I think analogue TV still operating in a couple of provinces.
Saw a picture of an old "tikkey-box" the other day and sometimes visit an old house with that ancient internal phone system "nomm er asseblief, number please" which went through to the district switchboard.
Supersonic passenger flight….disappeared with the Concorde. And if you think about it, everybody in 1973 would have guessed it would now be the norm. Almost everything else one can think of is an improvement. This is a significant step back and no passenger aircraft since has looked so magnificent.
The way the world is going, normal jet airliners will also become less desirable...as would a nice ribeye steak.
What is totally missing is the truth in media - technology has developed means to ensure lies becomes the norm.
Seriously now, all joke s aside, just how stupid do you have to be to think truth in the media is a 1970s technology?
Listen doos - since the 1970's they have developed the internet and the media platforms became the main media distributor failing to provide the truth. Enough of it for idiots like you to believe.
