https://news.sky.com/story/former-tory-ministers-agreed-to-advise-fake-overseas-company-for-10-000-in-sting-operation-12842706

The UK Conservative Party has been hit by a fresh scandal after former ministers were secretly recorded agreeing to take money to use their influence to benefit a fake Chinese company. The former cabinet ministers were approached by undercover reporters posing as representatives of the firm, who asked the politicians to be paid advisers. They agreed to use their political influence to lobby on behalf of the fake company, which was created by a UK lobbying firm as part of a sting operation. The Conservative Party has launched an investigation into the allegations, which have raised concerns about the potential for corruption and undue influence in UK politics.

Clearly they got into politics as a means to be lobbyists where they can get a cut of deals. Use their government positions to put "friends" into the fast lane instead of using government tenders.

What went on during Covid was arguably the most corrupt performance by any politicians around the world.

Companies were created people with no health expertise, then after existing for only 2 weeks won contracts for hundreds of millions of pounds. They just bought stuff on Alibaba - most of which could not even be used as it was not up to standard.

People are calling for banning 2nd jobs by politicians.

They apparently did discuss  something which has been normal with politicians all over the world - but obviously was influenced by the fact that people are generally not arrested for that type of thing -  the USA being an example where the blatant use of influence to make money  is public knowledge and even when the Chinese paid handsomely to the Biden crime family it is defended by his Party and the media that it is fake news despite the payments wre through bank transfer of money.

No one is as corrupt as Matt Hancock, he should be hung.

In the UK Hancock may be a crook - but compared to the USA would he is a small-time sideways crook with the backhanders and bribes run into $100 million being the norm to qualify for being a small-time crook, while the main crooks are the Biden, Pelosi, Schiff and Schumer crime families.

There goes ou Maaik again, turning every single subject into an excuse to tell us for the umpteenth time that the Democrats are evil and Biden is a crook.

The only surprise is that he managed to post it only once.

I was just making a comparison between the UK and their closest partner the USA - plainly to indicate that the allegations - if they ever go to court - will be regarded as a minor misdemeanor - there is a difference between scheming about corruption money requirements  and actual ly implementing it.

If that cat had Joe Biden's crooked ideas - he will not knock over you bins - he would steal it.

It was a fake Korean company not Chinese and, as far as the rules go, he did not break any ministerial code.

I won’t say what I think of Matt Hancock….

Becs, I also read reports that no laws were broken. However, surely a government has a tender process to make it fair and avoid bribes and other fraud.

For example, GCAT in the UK is the government procurement system in place for buying from the IT industry. Every request from the government is tendered, unless it is urgent where it can be fast-tracked.

Whenever Matt Hancock is caught, it is always the same story- that he never broke any laws.
It is clear he is unscrupulous, so how does he keep getting away with it?
