I'm going to post some more words of wisdom but before I do - to save time - are there any Trumpanzees out there who have never heard of Noam Chomsky or would dispute that he's a very wise man?

Hmmm?

You mean the guy of whom the following is written about:-

Noam Chomsky is an intellectual, political activist, and critic of the foreign policy of the United States and other governments. Noam Chomsky describes himself as a libertarian socialist, a sympathizer of anarcho-syndicalism, and is considered to be a key intellectual figure within the left-wing of politics of the United States.

Is that the man?   If so - don't even bother to repeat the drivel on site,

There's irony . . .

. . . then there's lots of irony . . .

. . . then there's massive amounts of irony as far as the eye can see . . .

. . . and then there's this . . . Ou Maaik calling Noam Chomsky's views "drivel".

Noam Chomsky's academic achievements, awards and honours:

"In 1970, the London Times named Chomsky one of the "makers of the twentieth century".[148] He was voted the world's leading public intellectual in The 2005 Global Intellectuals Poll jointly conducted by American magazine Foreign Policy and British magazine Prospect.[296] New Statesman readers listed Chomsky among the world's foremost heroes in 2006.[297]

In the United States he is a Member of the National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Linguistic Society of America, the American Philosophical Association, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.[298] Abroad he is a corresponding fellow of the British Academy, an honorary member of the British Psychological Society, a member of the Deutsche Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina,[298] and a foreign member of the Department of Social Sciences of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts.[299] He received a 1971 Guggenheim Fellowship, the 1984 American Psychological Association Award for Distinguished Contributions to Psychology, the 1988 Kyoto Prize in Basic Sciences, the 1996 Helmholtz Medal,[298] the 1999 Benjamin Franklin Medal in Computer and Cognitive Science,[300] the 2010 Erich Fromm Prize,[301] and the British Academy's 2014 Neil and Saras Smith Medal for Linguistics.[302] He is also a two-time winner of the NCTE George Orwell Award for Distinguished Contribution to Honesty and Clarity in Public Language (1987 and 1989).[298] He has also received the Rabindranath Tagore Centenary Award from The Asiatic Society.[303]

Chomsky received the 2004 Carl-von-Ossietzky Prize from the city of Oldenburg, Germany, to acknowledge his body of work as a political analyst and media critic.[304] He received an honorary fellowship in 2005 from the Literary and Historical Society of University College Dublin.[305] He received the 2008 President's Medal from the Literary and Debating Society of the National University of Ireland, Galway.[306] Since 2009, he has been an honorary member of International Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters (IAPTI).[307] He received the University of Wisconsin's A.E. Havens Center's Award for Lifetime Contribution to Critical Scholarship[308] and was inducted into IEEE Intelligent Systems' AI's Hall of Fame for "significant contributions to the field of AI and intelligent systems."[309] Chomsky has an Erd?s number of four.[310]

In 2011, the US Peace Memorial Foundation awarded Chomsky the US Peace Prize for antiwar activities over five decades.[311] For his work in human rights, peace, and social criticism, he received the 2011 Sydney Peace Prize,[312] the 2017 Seán MacBride Peace Prize[313] and the Dorothy Eldridge Peacemaker Award.[300]

Chomsky has received honorary doctorates from institutions including the University of London and the University of Chicago (1967), Loyola University Chicago and Swarthmore College (1970), Bard College (1971), Delhi University (1972), and the University of Massachusetts (1973) among others.[97] His public lectures have included the 1969 John Locke Lectures,[300] 1975 Whidden Lectures,[98] 1977 Huizinga Lecture, and 1988 Massey Lectures, among others.[300]

Various tributes to Chomsky have been dedicated over the years. He is the eponym for a bee species,[314] a frog species,[315] and a building complex at the Indian university Jamia Millia Islamia.[316] Actor Vi ggo Mortensen and avant-garde guitarist Buckethead dedicated their 2003 album Pandemoniumfromamerica to Chomsky.[317]"

Listen dose - anybody can be wise on sceintific issues - but a total fool on political issues,   I question the issue of anarcho-syndicalism.   Remember Charles Manson  - that was what he was involved in.

I am not interested in the viewpoints of an anarchist even if you may be.  You pr obably are because you are fascinated by political BS.

"anarcho-syndicalism" Sounds like someone trying to paint Marxism in a different color....a wise Communist should be the textbook example for an oxymoron.

"Rather quote Winston Churchill"
Okay . . .
"I do not understand the squeamishness about the use of gas. I am strongly in favour of using poisonous gas against uncivilised tribes."
or . . .
"It is alarming and nauseating to see Mr Gandhi, a seditious Middle Temple lawyer, now posing as a fakir of a type well known in the east, striding half naked up the steps of the viceregal palace, while he is still organising and conducting a campaign of civil disobedience, to parlay on equal terms with the representative of the Emperor-King."
How about . . .
"I do not admit... that a great wrong has been done to the Red Indians of America, or the black people of Australia... by the fact that a stronger race, a higher grade race... has come in and taken its place."
And . . .
"One may dislike Hitler's system and yet admire his patriotic achievement. If our country were defeated, I hope we should find a champion as admirable to restore our courage and lead us back to our place among the nations."
Or . . .
"I hate Indians. They are a beastly people with a beastly religion."
Happy, Moffie?

Well that one is interesting,   We all know that Churchill was not as dishonest as Rooiek's hero Obama is,  When caught out in being violating the law, Obama stuttered a couple of times and the last stutter being just before he referred to the Rule of Law, which he routinely ignored  himself.

Obama did not have a teleprinter when he dealt with that one.

"Obama did not have a teleprinter when he dealt with that one."
No, again you're right ou Maaik. That's twice you've been right in a single day which is probably some kind of recor d for a stupid old fool like you but sadly, it's the exact same thing you're right about because you're repeating yourself . . . and even though I explained to you on this thread that you're using the wrong word, you are so thunderously stupid that you still don't understand the difference between a teleprinter (which has been obsolete for about 50 years) and a teleprompter which is what people read off while they're speaking to a camera.
All jokes aside . . . you are too stupid to know that you're stupid. Seriously.

Churchill was no saint (you can see the good old colonial spirit running in his veins), but in some of these quotes it really is quite important to quote the whole passages they spring from. Here is Churchill's full quote about gas, for example. The last sentence is rather important.

“I do not understand this squeamishness about the use of gas. We have definitely adopted the position at the Peace Conference of arguing in favour of the retention of gas as a permanent method of warfare. It is sheer affectation to lacerate a man with the poisonous fragment of a bursting shell and to boggle at making his eyes water by means of lachrymatory gas.

I am strongly in favour of using poisoned gas against uncivilised tribes. The moral effect should be so good that the loss of life should be reduced to a minimum. It is not necessary to use only the most deadly gasses: gasses can be used which cause great inconvenience and would spread a lively terror and yet would leave no serious permanent effects on most of those affected.

And here is the one about Hitler. Again, the last sentence is rather important:

To feel deep concern about the armed power of Germany is in no way derogatory to Germany. On the contrary, it is a tribute to the wonderful and terrible strength which Germany exerted in the Great War, when almost single-handed she fought nearly all the world and nearly beat them. Naturally, when a people who have shown such magnificent military qualities are arming night and day, its neighbours, who bear the scars of previous conflicts, must be anxious and ought to be vigilant. One may dislike Hitler’s system and yet admire his patriotic achievement. If our country were defeated I hope we should find a champion as indomitable to restore our courage and lead us back to our place among the nations. I have on more than one occasion made my appeal in public that the Führer of Germany should now become the Hitler of peace.

Context...using half a truth to tell a big lie...the Marxist way...constant manipulative scheming...they know what's best for everyone...the greater good...the end justifies the means...bla bla bla!

Unfortunately the only way to get rid of them is a total implosion of society (due to their policies) followed by anarchy and vigilantism...and starting over from scratch...

Hmmmm . . . this sounds like a challenge for me to put up the picture I have of you that shows your soft paunch drooping over some hideous tracksuit pants that fail to mask how scrawny your little white legs are.

In stark contrast, you have absolutely no idea what I look like, how tall I am or what I weigh - zero - while I have a picture of you proving everything I'm saying which I'm more than happy to put up if you give me permission. As you well know, the picture does include what may be one of your family members so it's your call, flabster.

PS Moffie, I think I asked you this before but you did a Cowardunce and ran away instead of answ ering . . . but do you collect kettles or teapots or something? In the background of the picture I'm talking about there's a shelf full of what looks like kettles or teapots.

Do you recognize these symptoms:

Symptoms

Signs and symptoms of rickets can include:

  • Delayed growth
  • Delayed motor skills
  • Pain in the spine, pelvis and legs
  • Muscle weakness

Because rickets softens the areas of growing tissue at the ends of a child's bones (growth plates), it can cause skeletal deformities such as:

  • Bowed legs or knock knees
  • Thickened wrists and ankles
  • Breastbone projection
