Is that it’s not working. We don’t know how much another coach could improve things......but we have the Jake example and the Eddie example that suggest these strong rugby nations can be improved in a hurry. So why keep Alistair. The main argument seems to be a sense of fairness. The mental midget Joel Stransky is the latest making this case. Alistair isn’t solely responsible. Sure. As I predicted Smith and Venter who had lots of authority weren’t the answer. But it’s not working and there is really no discernable positive trend. The last time we beat a top 5 team Morne was at the helm. And this is not a matter of fairness.....it’s about performance. Alistair has shown zero ability to perform, we should not be inventing reasons to keep him......thank him for his efforts and send him on his way.

Apparently, SARU wanted to fire him last year because they made their worst financial loss in the era of pro rugby.
Coetzee promised that if he did not meet a 65% win rate this year he would step down. Now Coetzee is fighting by using the worker's unions(communist organisations) that are less focussed on performance than equality.
SARU are so stupid that apparently, this 65% KPI is a verbal, rather than written agreement.
Additionally, he cant use transformation as an excuse because his teams became less transformed as the season went on.  Jake White and Meyers teams were closer to the targets

Joel is simply currying favour so he can keep his job with the SABC.

Dr Venter had nothing to do with the Boks poor performances. If he made any mistake it was getting involved in the mess.

I hope the good doctor’s success rate with his patients is higher than his success as Italian defensive coach and the Boks’ exit coach. Hahaha...he is doing a great job of planning his own exit though!

Fairness? Sport is discriminatory by nature. I couldn't think of a worse environment to start a social justice crusade. This isnt mommy making sure everyone gets to play with the toys. Best or nothing. New Zealand's model is the why the tram succeeds. Hiring a New Zealand coach would be like using shock paddles on a corpse that's been dead for two years. Not enouh. Just a desperate hope of being successful by association. Pretty sad that all of the best coach's in the country become alienated. Jake, Meyer, Mallett etc. The politics is so feeble. But yeah, Coeyzee is not working. Jake the team builder is the best bet. He understands the culture and essence of Bok rugby probably better than anybody else. That's what's important in New Zealand. Any number 2, perform better than everyone else no matter what! Its all pretty simple. The Roboks should be consistently number 2 in world rugby end through a lean period.

I am really sick and tired about the debate on the issue of the useless Coetzee,   Instead of accepting that he is useless with Meyer only slightly less so - some people who initially supported the appointment of Coetzee despite his despicable record as Stormers coach - still would not accept that a fresh start is necessary.

Some who have a short memory  keep on about White forgetting the reasons why he got fired as Sharks coach in 2014.   Also why his contract with Montpellier was mot renewed/

The answer is simple - Coetzee has to go and a new coach needs to be found.   The best solution would be to appoint a NZ coach and forget about having a local person around,. since virtually none of them would f ind a solution to the inherent problems facing SA Rugby,
